"What are you going to d-" But he stopped as Quin jumped down through the window.

----------------------------------------------

Crystal watched in surprise as Quinton came down through the skylight. Jake growled as he got up and turned to him.
"How the hell did you find me?!"
"You aren't exactly good at hiding, Jake." Quin smirked. "And you're caught in the act. The police will be here soon, so give up."
"Never!" He growled and took out his gun, but Quin quickly grabbed his arm and twisted it behind him.
"Don't make this any harder. I warned you that if you set foot back in here, you'll regret it." He said as Jake struggled against him. Rob jumped down and quickly went to Crystal, cutting off the ropes and picking her up. She shook in his arms as she gripped his shirt. Jake glared before dropping his gun and using his free hand, he took out his knife and tossed it, hitting Rob's side.
"Gah!" Rob screamed in pain and fell to the ground.
"Rob!" Quinton's eyes widened before he glared at Jake and punched him hard. "Bastard!" Jake stumbled back, holding his nose, which was now bleeding, and picked up his gun, aiming it at Rob.
"Move and he dies." Crystal's eyes widened as she curled up to Rob, shaking in fear. Rob held her close as Quinton stood where he was. Jake smirked as he clicked his gun. "That's what I thought." But just as he was about to shoot, he dropped his gun as someone shot his hand and he yelped in pain. Quinton and Rob looked to see Ace with the sheriff and two policemen.
     "Ace!"
"Alright boys. Take him away." The sheriff said and the two men cuffed Jake and took him out of the building. Ace went over to Rob and pulled the knife out as Rob winced in pain.
     "Are you two okay?"
"I am. Thank you Ace." Rob said softly before looking at Crystal who hid her face in his chest, crying quietly. He gently ran his fingers through her hair. "Crys... Its over. He's gone now."
"I-I was so scared..!" She cried. "H-he hit me and...and tried t-" He interrupted her by gently turning her head to look at him before kissing her on the lips. She kissed him back as she held onto him. He pulled away and smiled softly.
     "It's okay. You're safe now."
"This poor girl has been through a lot, huh? First her father and now this guy." The sheriff said as he went up to them. "Well, we've been after them both for quite some time. They stole a lot of money and committed a lot of crimes over the years."
"So my father was really a criminal..? Jake wasn't lying..?" Crystal asked and the sheriff shook his head.
"I'm afraid not. Mr. Anders was one of the most wanted around the state. He changed his name to get around and acted decent. All he cared about was money. Not even his wife and children suspected."
"Bastard." Rob mumbled. "He had no right to treat them this way."
"I agree." Ace nodded. "Jon has told us a lot about their father, but he never knew. They've been staying with us for months now."
"Your parents are fine people, Ace. I am good friends with your father. If the two shall remain in your home, then that's fine." The sheriff smiled.
"Thank you sheriff." Ace smiled and shook his head.
"Thank you for helping us catch those two. They won't be harming anyone else. Take care."
"We will. Come on Rob. Let's get you and Crys to the hospital. Jon is probably worried sick by now." He said as he helped his brother up. Rob stood up as he held Crystal in his arms.
"I'm just glad we got here in time.. I'm sorry I wasn't there..."
"It's okay. None of us knew.."
"At least they're both gone now." He smiled as she smiled back before slowly falling asleep in his arms.
