Massive spiders fell all around them, surrounding them quickly. Elvira dodged the fangs of one, only to fall into the legs of another. She rolled to the left in order to dodge the stinger of a large spider, it's stinger lodging in the ground where Elvira's body used to lay.

They were losing this fight, and she knew it. All of a sudden, six out of the eight legs wrapped themselves around Elvira's body, pulling her into the makeshift cage of legs and fangs. She couldn't breathe, the grip the spider had on her was caving her chest cavity in. She tried to reach for her sword, but her arms were pinned down by her sides too tightly. She faintly heard someone yell her name, before a sharp sting came from her back, and her sight faded to black.

The Ranger woke to find her breathing labored and her vision blocked by a sticky white substance. Her body was stuck in a lying position, her arms pinned tightly to her sides once more. The feeling of giant spiders poking and prodding her body was making her nervous. They were spinning webs, encasing all of the dwarves in cocoons as well.

Elvira was being turned around by a spider. It's nasty legs were poking her in different areas, trying to find the best place where lots of meat was for it's meal. She wriggled as best she could, trying to get out of it's grip. Suddenly, the sound of the clashing of a sword and the spider shrieking filled her ears, giving her hope. And all of sudden, Elvira felt like she was floating.

Her cocooned body was falling out of the tree and back down to the forest floor, where she landed on top of something else that was wriggling around, trying to break free. Elvira moved her hand as best she could in the elastic webbing and reached down to her boot where she pulled out a small knife, and jutted it upwards to cut through the web. She got out of the cocoon quickly, pulling the last of it off of her face so that she could see. She realized that her body was stretched horizontally on top of both Fili and Kili, who were struggling to get out from underneath her.

"Where's Bilbo?" Elvira shouted after everyone had gotten out of the web and stood up.

"I'm up here!" The young hobbit shouted from the tree, but his voice was cut off by a shriek, and Bilbo was pinned down to the tree by a giant spider. Elvira watched as Bilbo brought his sword up through the belly of the spider, and he and the spider fell from the tree. She went to meet him to make sure he was okay, but got caught off guard, as spiders surrounded the group of dwarves on the ground. Not knowing where her sword went, she reached behind her, bringing her bow around as she began shooting spiders left and right. Elvira noticed Ori was trapped underneath a spider, his hands holding on to the spider's fangs as they tried to drop down and pierce his skin. Elvira quickly took action. She ran towards the tree next to the spider, turning her body horizontal to the floor as she put both feet on the tree trunk and launched herself at the spider, landing on top of it gently. She jumped up and ran towards its head, where she took an arrow out of her quiver. She spun it in her hand and drove it straight down with a grunt into the spider's brain, it's body becoming limp quickly. Elvira flipped off of the spider, and bent down, grabbing Ori by the shirt and yanking him out from underneath the creature just as it's weight fell dead to the ground.

There was a quiet silence that overtook the forest momentarily, and everyone looked around, weapons raised as a mass of spiders began careening from the treetops towards them. Elvira put her bow down, and took out her knives, spinning them in her hands preparedly. She took a deep breath, but her breath was quickly lost once more when a flash of blonde hair appeared in her sight.

The figure took hold of a spider's string of web, spinning around it as he went until he landed on top of the spider, putting an arrow through its head. He rode the spider's body down the hill, shooting more as he went.
