As punishment from the mermaid court for changing a mermaid into a human, Zelby must go and live in the ocean until she can change Joira (the girl she turned human) back into a mermaid with her mermaid tail.
Zelby starts to live with her aunt Meria near the reefs where noone dare lurks.
One day as she ventures far away from her new home, she finds a heavily injured merman and takes the urge to help him.
The thing surprising at most, is that HE is the KING of the merpeople.
