It's not ghosts that Laura Geno sees, it's much worse.

Minions Of Death are creatures that look like that little guy from The Hobbit and says "my precious"
Minions Of Death - gather around a body when it dies. They surround the dead body to gather the uncouncious soul and bring it to the other world where they'll be greeted by death to chose what happens nxt for them.

The first time Laura remembers seeing The Minions was when she was 5 and was in a car crash. The crash killed her father and wounded her mother but she was okay.
She saw them surround her father and take a shiny light away with them. She then realized what they were and she did try to fight with them to get away from her dad because (as I may remind you) they are pretty weird looking. and ofc everyone thinks she went coo coo from the crash so Laura then realized only she can see them and Laura starts hating hospitals since The Minions are always near a dead body, ready to take them.

So she is now in her senior year of High school when her boyfriend gets into a car crash.
She sees him get hit by a car (they were in a fight) and runs to him. She holds him in her arms as The MinionsOf Death start to appear to take him.
Ofc Laura sees them and tries to fight them off, becuz they are the ones who take the soul when the body dies.
She fails to stop them from taking her lover.
She then turns to anyone for help. There, she meets an old man who gives her advice. But she don't agree with him.
She goes to a hospital and catches the Minions and tell them to take her to Death so she can talk to him about bringing him (her boyfriend) back.
[spoiler] She falls for Death. Ofc she's going to meet her boyfriend after a while she and death r in love.
