Ever since birth, Joira has always hated her unnatural mermaid tail. Hers wasn't normal like all the others.
Her hatred for her tail causes her to seek out a half wizard/ half mermaid to change her tail to normal.
But once the wizard agrees and changes the tail to "normal"... it ends up as human legs instead of a new tail.
All of a sudden Joira's life changes and now she has to live on land and.... Go to a human high school?
It is especially a dangerous time now because the town is recently flouded with gossip of mermaids because of a high schools newspaper. And at that... Joira is attending THAT exact school of gossip.
And its not a good thing that Joira is experimenting with her new found legs...
Especially when she gets caught by a man.. More dangerous than all of that, her heart seems to follow his as she moves further away from her species.
