You taught me what
it means to be a best friend.
Taught me what it meant
to have someone who would
always be there for me.
In the couple of years
that I knew you,
that is who I thought you were.
But you were anything
but a best friend.
Took longer than I wished,
until I saw your true colors.
Then the day came
when you killed our friendship.
Though it hurt at first
and every now and then
still brings tears to my eyes.
I know this as a lesson
I needed to learn,
to realize who really is
a best friend
