"Melody, Melody! Get up!" West's worried voice broke me out of my comatose state.

"What time is it?" I muttered.

"It's one in the afternoon, Saturday! You've been sleeping

for over twelve hours!" she said, freaking out. "I thought you had died!"

"My soul has died." I cried, stuffing my face into my pillow.

"What do you mean, my soul has died? Don't tell me I rubbed off on you that much." West joked.

"Andrew cheated on me with Lexi." I choked out in between sobs.

"That..."West started.

"No. Don't say it. It won't help. Nothing will help." I sniffled.

"Wow. We need to get you to snap out of this."

"How can I? Andrew was the best! I can't live without him."

"Yes you can." West grunted, pulling me out of the bed. "I've been single for sixteen years. You hear me, sixteen! Never in my life have I ever thought of having a boyfriend."

"You must have. At least once." I muttered.

"But that's not important now." She said, handing me a strapless red top and jeans.

"Yes it is. I want to know about West's first boyfriend." I laughed a bit.

"He wasn't my boyfriend, and it didn't end well anyway." She said, shoving me into the shower room. "Brush your teeth and get dressed. The last day of pranks is tomorrow and we need to go out with a bang."

"So what were you thinking?" I asked West after I changed into the black skinny jeans and red combat boots.

"Why don't we goth her up?" West smiled, raising her eyebrows.

"And how would we do that?" I prompted.

"I have some black and green hair dye, a bunch of makeup, and black nail polish." West smiled.

"That sounds awesome! By the way, what did you do for today's prank?" I asked. Following West out of the cabin.

"You'll see por la tarde." West answered, half speaking Spanish.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and walked behind West as she led me to the Rock climbing wall.

"Why are we here?" I asked her, looking at the tall block of stone.

"It's our camp activity for the day!" West exclaimed, forcing a happy tone.

"Ha-ha. Are you going to do it?" I asked.

"Nope, acrophobia." She shrugged, sitting on a bench in front of the wall. I rolled my eyes and headed toward the other people in my cabin.

"Hey Andi." I smiled, approaching her. Today she was wearing a yellow short sleeve top that conformed to her body and denim shorts.

"Hey, what's up?" she asked. Before I could reply she continued her sentence. "Did you know that Lexi and Andrew are going out?"

"Um...not really." I replied awkwardly, "Wait, how do you know that?"

"Andrew's been going around telling everyone." She shrugged, like I was the only one

who didn't know about it. Before I could ask any more questions Kathrine blew the whistle and called everyone to the rock. Luckily only girls were participating in this activity so I wouldn't have to confront Andrew.

"Today's activity is rock climbing. You will all need partners. In fifteen minutes we will meet back here with our partners. Okay?" Kathrine yelled.

The group mumbled a reply and started to dissipate. Lexi pushed thought the crowd and followed me to West's bench. "We're partners." She said, grabbing my arm and pulling me away from West.

"Don't I get any say in this?" I groaned as she dragged me into the woods that surrounded the open field. "You know that kidnapping is a capital offence that can be punished in the court of law." I said sarcastically once we were deep in the forest.

"Did you hear that I'm going out with Andrew?" she smiled.

So that's what this was all about. "Whatever, we need to go back to the climbing wall."

"But don't you want to know why he ditched me for you?" she said, gripping my wrist tightly.

"Looks like I don't have a choice," I muttered as she slipped her phone out of her pocket. She pulled up a picture of a girl in a blue striped t-shirt, me, kissing a tall guy with dark brown hair, Chris. "Who took this picture?" I demanded.

"My good friend Cody." She smiled and started walking back to camp.

"So this was your plan all along." I face palmed myself.

"Yeah, and it worked." She disappeared into the trees and left me stranded. I tried hopelessly to find my way out of the forest for an hour but to no avail. I sat helplessly on a rock until West pushed though the green canopy and found me.

"Hey! Where have you been?" she exclaimed.

"Lost." I frowned.

"It's almost time for dinner we need to go!" she yelled, pulling me up from my stump and out of the forest, into a clearing which was only about ten feet away.

I thanked West for bringing me back by having dinner with her. I refrained from talking about Andrew as West ran her mouth about how good the last day of pranks was going to be.

"Hey, you told me that your prank today would play out in the afternoon. How come I didn't see it?" I asked, knowing the answer before West said it.

"Duh, you were stuck in the woods." I rolled my eyes as West left to return her tray to the dirty stack. "But it was really good. I weakened all of Lexi's heels so the first time she stepped," West paused for dramatic effect, "Kerplunk! Right into the mud. It was hilarious." She smiled like she was remembering a scene from the 'good old days'."

"Great." I sighed half heartedly.

"Don't tell me that you're all sad about Andrew again. He's not worth it. you need to move on." West separated each word to make sure the meaning sunk in.

"Yeah, but, I can't believe he would dump me, and he didn't even dump me officially, for Lexi. Lexi is such a self absorbed..." I clenched my fists to refrain from saying a word that I would regret.

"Hey, meet me at the first pit at ten." West said ominously and then left the table.

For the rest of the day I didn't see west. She did appear in the cabin that night though.

"What's the whole deal with the fire pit?" I asked.

"I'll tell you when we get there." She frowned, climbing onto the top bunk. I rolled my eyes and set my alarm for ten. My vibrating watch shook me awake later that night. I groaned and rolled out of bed, expecting West to be up to guide me through the camp, but her bunk was empty. I guess she had already left. I turned the glow feature on and dimly lit me way out of the cabin and into the open camp grounds. I took a left and headed toward what should have been an extinguished campfire, but It was still burning. There were about ten people gathered around it.
