"Hey Ali!" West smiled and then stood up. "Well now that mostly everyone's here I would like to welcome to all to the first official Vampire Hunting camp meeting. "
"Vampire Hunting?" Andrew stuttered.
"Yes." I snapped, but I was also confused.
"Everyone here was tested over a course of two weeks with all the camp activities. Tomorrow the camp ends for all the other visitors and they will go home, but you will stay-" she was cut off by a crunching the bushes.
"Hey! Sorry I'm late." Lexi stepped out of the darkness and into the light.
"Why is she here?" I muttered to West.
"She passed the tests." West whispered.
"Hi." Lexi smiled; forcing herself between Andrew and I. she greeted Andrew with a long unnecessary kiss.
"Okay then. I was just telling everyone what this camp was for. Now we get to welcome our new members, Andrew, Melody, and Lexi." There were a few short claps and the applause died out fast.
"I thought Lexi has been terrorizing to this camp for years!" I exclaimed.
"You're right, but she only passed the tests this year. Which is, abnormal, but we'll take anyone we have. As you can see this is a pretty small organization." West stated like the teacher she never was.
"Yeah Melody." Lexi jeered.
"Ugh. That didn't even make any sense." I rolled my eyes.
"yeah it did."
"No it didn't!"
"Yes it did!"
"STOP CONTRADICTING ME!" I yelled.
"Contradicting?" Lexi asked, puzzled.
"Yes, it means-" I started.
"Let's get back to the meeting. For the next three weeks you are going to be training for vampire hunting. If we still don't think the new members are ready your mind will be wiped, but if you succeed, you will become a vampire hunter."
West went on about the different training we would go through for the next few weeks. After thirty minutes she dismissed everyone, telling them the plan for the mourning, "Just get on bus #318. It will circle around the camp and bring us back." I nodded in acknowledgement and followed West and Lexi. "I just wanted to let you know that this boot camp doesn't interfere with our friendship at all." West whispered as we entered the dark cabin.
"Well does that mean the Week of Pranks is still on?" I asked.
"Hell yeah!" she shouted, causing a brief moment of sound in the cabin. I clamped my hand over her mouth while Lexi turned over in her sleep.
"What's your problem?" I giggled, peeling my hand off her mouth.
"What's your problem?' she mocked, climbing down from her bunk. We searched through her drawers and pulled out her cases of eye shadow, foundation, lipstick, and mascara. While West painted Lexi's face with makeup, I blacked out all the mirrors so she couldn't see herself. Then we dyed all her clothes black, but before the fabric could dry, light started to rise over the trees.
I rushed into the cabin with Lexi's clothes and shoved them in her cabinet. I took a short moment to evaluate Lexi's face. West had plastered her hair with a dark green color the covered her golden locks and made them look the color of toxic waste. Her eyes were shadowed with black eye liner and powder. Her lips were the color of night and her face was paler than humanly possible. Though so much damage had been done, the nowgothic looking princess remained in a deep slumber.
"You did a great job." I complimented West as I crawled into the bottom bunk.
"Yeah." She sighed. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep while the fiery red sun Rose over the trees and began to shine into our cabin.
