The Maslow Relationship(Sequel to Thanks Fox)

Chapter 17

"Yes?" I said sounding concerned. James sat down on the chair next to my bed and took my hand.

"You hit your head really hard." The doctor made a pause. "I'm afraid you'll have to make a little break from your professional life."

I looked in shock at the doctor. "Do you mean, I can't act anymore?" Tears started to form in my eyes. I can't believe this. James squeezed my hand a litlle.

"Not for a long time. I'd say about two or three weeks. You suffered from a light hematoma and your brain isn't ready for such work like acting. It's just a little break. You'll have to come to the hospital twice a week to control if everything's okay."

"O-Okay." I nooded.

The doctor looked at the papers that he was holding. "I see that everything's fine with you now. You can leave now."

"Thank you." I smiled a little at the doctor. The doctor leaved the room and I looked down at my hands.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" James asked me with a soft voice.

I shook my head. "No"

"Hey hey hey, I don'twant you to cry." He said and hugged me.

I hugged him back and whiped my tears away with a hand. "What if I won't be able to act anymore?"

"The doctor said it was just for two or three weeks. Who knows, maybe you'll recover faster and will be able to get back to work before two weeks passed." He said rubbing my back.

"I wanna get out of here." I said pulling out of the hug and standing up. James walked out of the room and I dressed my clothes. I was putting a few medicines that I became in my bag as James walked in again.

"Here, drink this. I know you'll feel bether." He said handing me a bottle.

I looked at the bottle and then at him with a wide smie. "You know me too well." I kissed his cheek and grabbed the bottle of orange juice.

We walked out of the hospital and entered the car. "Did Lena an Dan already arrive?" I asked as James started to drive.

"Yeah, thei're at Carlos' place. Wel'll go home now so you can take a shower and maybe we'll go over his place. Or I may call him to come over since you should rest."

"No no no! I don't wanna stay at home these whole two or three weeks." I said.

"Okay." James nooded.

We were silent during the rest of the ride. We arrived and entered the house. I went straight to the bathroom, took of my clothes and entered the shower.

After taking s long shower and relaxing I got out of the shower, wrapped a towel around my body and my hair and went to the bedroom. I picked some clothes and got dressed. I blow dryed my hair and decided to go natural.

I walked downstairs and saw James sitting on the couch watching TV and Fox laying next to him.

I walked to James and sat next to him.

"James, I gotta talk to you."

James looked at me surprised and sat up.
