After lessons finished they met up together.
"Now we go and pack."
They ran to their respective room and packed up their trunks and bags.
"Don't forget to pack your sheets Eden!" Called Delly,folding hers tightly and stuffing them into a side pocket of her hold-all.
An hour later and both girls were packed.Delly chucked a book into the bag she'd brought for the car and declared hat she was done.
Just as she said that there was a knock at the door.
"Come in!"yelled Eden,wrestling with an inflatable crocodile.
"Do you guys think I look Ok?"
Red stood before them in a formal suit and tie.Delly let out a cry of anguish and Eden shook her head.
"Just go with something natural.He's your brother not a prince!Jeans and one of your hoodies will be fine.We promise."
Red wiped his brow.
"Phew,this suit is getting a little bit hot and uncomfortable.I'll go and change.I will see you guys downstairs in ten ok?"
The girls nodded as they knew they didn't need to change their outfits.Delly was wearing a deep navy t -shirt under a long white cardigan with light green leggings.she was wearing her blue pullon plimsoles on her feet and her socks were a crisp white colour.Eden was wearing a flowery dress with white tights and patterned doc martins.
He thought they looked great! He left the room and ran back to his dorm.Unlike,he presumed,the girls bags his bag was packed in catagories ,a tattic he had picked up while at a grade school military camp.Reaching into his bag he pulled out a pair of brilliant red jeans and a white vest top with a long turtlenecked blue hoodie.Quickly he undressed packed everything away and pulled on the clothes he had laid out.
He met the girls downstairs where they'd planned.
"Where are we meeting him?"asked Eden,curiously.
"In the Squashed Banana cafe, in town.Do either of you know it?"
Delly nodded.
"Yeah,when I was younger and came here my aunt took me there all the time!The food is amazing!"
"Wait,what?I thought we couldn't get outta here until the end of term." Eden said looking confused.Dellys face grew red.
"Sorry no,this was my great uncles home before it became a school and my aunt and uncle live here now.When I was younger it used to be just a home so my parents made me come and visit for an entire summer every summer hols until I was about ten when they turned it into a school."
"Ah,right.OMG!Weve gotta go!Otherwise we will be late!"Red panicked.
"Ok,lets go!"
They arrived at the coffee shop with just a minute to spare.
"Oh look,it is yellow just like a banana!"giggled Eden.
As we pushed open the doors a boy sitting at the table to the edge of the coffee shop smiled and waved.
"He looks a lot like you Red..."murmured Delly to Red.
"Shut up!"He hissed back to her.
They made their way to the table and sat down.
"Hi,I'm Robin.You must be Dylan.Do you remember me?"
"Hello.Yeah my names Dylan.These are my friends Eden and Delphine.Your my oldest brother right?"
"Yeah,that's right.So tell me all about yourself,I want to get to know you.And your friends"
Red thought for a second.
"Well,you obviously know I love anything drama related and I've been in quite a number of performances over the years.My favourite was Snow White as it was the most hyper fun!"
"I think I remember that!" Robin said calmly.
"He's also a genius and can solve any problem!" Declared Delly.
Just then a waitress came up to the table.
"Are you guys ready to order yet?"
Delly looked up and grinned at the waitress.
"We will have four of the house shakes with the house rocky road please."
The waitress looked at Delly and grinned at her.
"Certainly.Be with you in a few minutes."
She gathered the menus and disappeared.
"So, Robs what's up at home?"Red asked
Robin shrugged."Nothing much.Dads away a lot of the time and I think moms cheating on him but I'm not sure.They definetly don't have the best relationship at the moment.It seems like it's only Cloud that's keeping them together."
Red put an arm round his little brother.
"Don't worry Robs,you'll be fine,I promise."
"You did that a lot when I was younger too." He sniffed
"What?"
"Called me Robs."
Red shrugged.
"It was a nickname I made up for you.I mean everyone here calls me Red instead of Dylan."
They boys talked some more and Delly and Eden interjected when needed.
"I'll keep writing Red.I promise."
Red smiled at that.
"And I will write back to you.One letter per month."
Robin hugged his older brother tightly and unexpectedly.
"I love you Red."
Red bent down and hugged his brother back.
"Robs,you are so strong,never give up on your dreams and don't stop trying to get there."
They stood for a moment silently hugging before finally breaking apart.
"Goodbye then Robin."
"Bye.See you next time."
They watched as he walked off towards the train station.When he disappeared from sight they turned around and walked back to the school.
They hurried inside not wanting to be late for lunch.When they heard the gong go they broke into a run,luckily no one caught them.They got into the dining room just in time.
"Phew!Right,we need to call our parents and then we are off to the new school!"
"Beverly Hall!" Eden reminded Red.
He nodded.
"But lunch first!"Delly said her stomach growling noisily.
After they had eaten their wraps and crisps they made their way to Aunt Carolines office.
They knocked at the door.
"Come in!" They heard her call.
"Hi,can we borrow the phone?We need to tell our parents the news of us going to Beverly Hall.Please Aunt Caroline"
Her aunt simply held out the phone to the girl.
Delly dialled in her number.
"Honey?Whats wrong?Do we need to come and get you?What did you hurt-"
"Mom,calm down,I'm fine but I've got some awesome news!"
" What is the news then,I'm getting very impatient dear."
"I got into that at school I tried for mom!"
"Well done dear!I will go and tell your dad right now."
"Bye mom!"
Delly heard the click that indicated her mom had cancelled the call and handed the phone to Eden.
She rang her parents but it was her brother that picked up the phone.
"Hi!This is Danny speaking!"
"Danny!Its Eden!Ive got some news to tell you."
"Do I need to get mom and dad? Is it bad?Are you getting kicked out again?-"
"No no no.Nothing like that!Actually I applied to a new school,the best drama school in the country a little while ago and I found out today that I got in.But I leave for it this afternoon! Can you tell mom and dad?"
"I sure will little sis!Congrats!Guess I won't keep sending my letters to PObox Nowhere any more."
Danny chuckled quietly.
"Anyway,Good luck and don't forget to write to me and mom and dad!See you soon!Bye"
"Bye Danny!,"
Eden waited until her brother had put the phone down before handing it to Red.
He took it and nervously dialled his home number.
"Hello,this is Ricco speaking."
"Dad,I have something I need to tell you."
"What is It then?Out with it."
"I applied to a new school and I got in.Im leaving for it this afternoon.I need your approval else I can't go.."
"Dylan?Will this make you happy?"
"Yes Dad."
"Then,I give my approval.Good luck boy...Dylan you know I don't actually hate you?"
"Really?"
"Your just..different Dylan.I never met anyone with such a strong will and knowledge as you.Basically I never met anyone like out before.And I'm glad your keeping contact with Robin-you had the best relationship with him when you were younger.Goodbye son."
Bye dad.And thank you."
Red put the phone down and grinned at the girls.
They had been holding their breaths and his smile told them all he needed to say.
Half an hour later Aunt Caroline watched as the small blue car with a raven head,a tawny blonde and a light brown head trundled off away from her.She watched as it 0disappeared from sight.
"I guess we'll see them next summer..."
They stood there Felix and Caroline and relished in the fact that their school had done what it was meant to do;move the children on.
