"He won't take your phone calls...he doesn't have a phone...here we go..." Dallon sang to himself quietly, strumming the strings of his ukulele. He's been on the water for forty-five minutes and still there wasn't much. Just simply jagged rocks and the smell of salty waters in the air.
Dallon decided to hum the rest of his song, which he set his instrument down, and focus on his journal. In his journal were recorded facts about sea creatures.
Leviathans, mermaids and sirens, and nymphs. These creatures and many others were all recorded in his book. As a child, he was interested in fiction and his parents thought it was silly of him but they assumed he'll grow out of it.
They were wrong because as a twenty-six year old man with a repairing heart still believed in such organisms. This belief of his was the only thing keeping him going.
From the distance, Dallon perked up, hearing a voice. It sounded like it was...singing?
He directed the boat toward the voice, in hopes of getting closer. When he did so, he could hear words, lyrics to the song.
"I'm just setting a trap...and I'm not pulling, no...you're just pulling at me..." the voice sounded beautiful to Dallon's ears. The lyrics were almost ironic to the situation. He turned up the speed on the boat motor.
The environment began to shift with fog arising, the temperature getting colder, and more occurrences of sharp rocks on Dallon's path.
He did his best to avoid the rocks that could sink his boat but the voice was enchanting. It was surprising when he could make out the gender of the voice or at least assume the gender.
It sounded like a male voice, which was quite shocking to Dallon since the town didn't have that many male singers.
The sailor was careful to not lost all control to the voice and that's when a certain thought crossed his mind.
Could this be doing of a siren?
The boat slowed down as the tip gently hit a boulder. The fog had grown stronger and the voice was louder. His vision was heavily blurred and blocked by the thick gray.
However, the voice got stronger and it sounded like was all around him. Since the song was louder, it completely had him in a daze.
That's when the creator of such a bittersweet song came out of the fog to inspect the pray who fallen for the bait.
