"You've got to be shitting us, right?" Ryan aggressively spoke after hearing the news about meeting with Brendon. "How do you he's not gonna bring his whole fish army and kill us?"
"I mean, I'm like totally excited about this! Me meeting a siren! That does just make you wanna knock your socks off?" Chad sounded quite excited to meet Brendon.
"Thanks for the enthusiasm, Chad." Dallon glared at Ryan, who was sitting on his couch.
"Shut your trap, Dal! Look, I understand and everything, I'm still pretty skeptical."
"About what?! Brendon killing us? I know him and he's a scared and shy siren! I get it, he did try to kill me but he's different than other sirens." Dallon explained, trying to get his best friend to understand.
"Dallon, I—" Ryan sighed and he looked embrassed. "I guess I'm just scared."
"Of Brendon?" Chad asked and Ryan nodded his head. "How so?"
"I don't know...? Maybe it's the thought that he's something entirely different? Fear of the unknown, perhaps? It's kinda scary meeting something is nothing like you, I suppose." Ryan had his reasons and Chad and Dallon understood them but they were going to persuade him somehow.
"Hey, don't worry! Dallon and I are gonna help you get over this fear! Animals aren't like us but sirens are like almost like us! Just add fishy elements!" Chad tried to make it seem less scary but it didn't seem to work. Ryan had this slight scrunched up face to show his worried feeling about the whole situation.
"Why don't you just do it? Don't even think about it. Just get on my boat tomorrow with Chad and I. Don't think, just do." Dallon stated. His plan was easy to follow and Ryan would have no trouble doing it. It's simple as counting to three.
"I—yeah, I guess that could work." Ryan responded. The two other men were waiting for his answer.
"So...?" Chad added.
He sighed again and a nervous smile was on his face. "Why not?"
"Yes! Alright, this, this is going to be amazing! Ryan, you are not going to regret this! Right, Dallon?" The man with glasses exclaimed, jumping up from his seat in the living room.
"Definitely, glad to know you got over that fear." The tallest man had his silly smirk on his face and Ryan's face was filled with embarrassment.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, and I swear to God, if I die, I'm not going to forgive you guys in the afterlife."
"Do what you please but that's not going to happen. I think you'll make a new friend tomorrow." Dallon's smirk into a genuine smile.
"Wait, does this mean, I have to get up like super early in the morning?" Chad asked.
"I guess so? We leave at nine in the morning tomorrow." The sailor answered.
"Ew, mornings." The latter groaned.
"Same, Chad, same." Ryan commented.
"It's plan then, tomorrow we'll all go to meet Brendon. You guys you should bring something to show him! He might try to steal them but don't worry, he'll give 'em back!" Dallon didn't want them to worry over bring their personal items. The other two nodded and began to ask Dallon questions about how to interact with the siren. Dallon was sure excited to have them meet Brendon but would Brendon be terrified of them...? He'd have to wait until tomorrow then.
Afternoon was quick to gain on the trio of friends. Soon enough, it was time for them to go back to work, leaving Dallon to his lonely life. It was saddening that the closest people he had was just his friends. He had no family left and not even someone to call a lover.
Dallon hoped to find one soon.
