"So, I see that the sailor boy is going out to the siren again," Ryan commented as Dallon started the motor a second time.

"Well, I pinky promised him and you know I'm not allowed to break that." Dallon got on the boat and double checked for all his supplies. He looked at the ocean and back at the island from the docked boat.

"Y'know, not to break anything but are you sure that he, a siren, is going to keep this promise? I've read they can be untrustworthy and devious creatures." Ryan was still skeptical about the whole thing even with yesterday's talk in consideration.

"Ryan, you know, we humans can be untrustworthy and devious creatures. Take a look at our history, all these terrible wars and stupid cruel things out of fear. How could you say that about creatures who've yet to be studied on? Nonetheless, you're just putting on this label on them, which is terrible enough." Dallon defended with some sort of protectiveness for a whole race or maybe it was just for one little siren.

Ryan felt a little pissed but he chose to let Dallon go. "Well, I'll see you later then, just don't come back late. Chad and I get worried about you, y'know."

"Thank you for caring but I think I'll be fine." There's this unsettling atmosphere around the two close friends but Ryan walked away with a small 'good-bye'  and left Dallon to go.

  🔜❓

Dallon attempted to travel the same path and end up in that rocky covered land. He luckily made it to the same place and waited for a sign to show that Brendon was there.  To pass the time, he sat in his boat, playing the ukulele, remembering that smile on Brendon's face when he first heard it.

"I wanna buy a gun...and shoot the sun..." His simple lyrics went unheard as still, Brendon hadn't arrived.

Dallon began to think that Brendon might be sabotaging him. He might just be luring him here so the sirens have something to eat for the night. Ryan might right all along. Before his thoughts had consumed him and persuaded him to leave, a splash was heard in his surroundings.

"Brendon? A-are you here?" Dallon called out, slowly beginning to arise from his seat.

"i'm h-here!" Brendon's soft voice came behind from a rock that was in front of Dallon's boat.

"Can you come out, please? I can't see you!" With those words, Brendon appeared out from behind the same rock from last time. There was a smile on his face and he swam toward Dallon's boat edge. Once on that edge, he put his arms over it to make it easier for Dallon to talk to him.

"hi! a-are you doing fine...?" Brendon asked as Dallon did seem a little sad to him.

"I guess. But enough about me, it doesn't matter that much. But what about you?" Dallon shook off whatever negative emotion he had. He doesn't want Brendon to worry about him.

"amazing since you came! i miss you..." Brendon had such an infectious smile with his pink cheeks and you can't help but to smile back.

"Miss me? How so?" Dallon asked with some confusion, how does Brendon miss him?

"you're really nice! and...pretty and i just like you a-a lot!" Brendon began to speak and his words sounded like they have been sewn together. Dallon had this blush creeping on his own cheeks.

Someone has these thoughts about himself and it's shocking to him. And it's more shocking that it's coming from a siren, a organism he met just yesterday.

  🔜❗️

aHa, sue me, I've got of a mixed feelings for this chapter. But I think we needed a moment where Dallon is going to protect his little siren dude because let's be honest here, I would...I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderul day! <3
