his head popped out of the water from behind a large rock. he peeked one side of the rock and saw another boat containing one tall human.
he swam over to the side of the boat and swung his arm inside the boat. he blindly tried to grab an object. he was a collector of sorts whenever humans fell for his trap, he would attempt to find something to take back with him. his cold hands felt an object with strings and hole in the middle. he grabbed it and took it out of the boat.
the object confused him, he didn't know what this is, but it reminded him of the lyre since with the strings of this object.
he set the object on the rock that the boat's tip had touched. he'll take it home since it was so interesting enough.
brendon (the siren's name) went to sit on the rock. it was quite a difficult task but he did it.
his dark brown and almost cold eyes were on the human occupying the boat.
the human was obviously in his trance which gave the siren a little more time to observe such a deadly and lovely looking creature.
his face was sharp, thin lips, a button nose, and eyes that looked like it held the water he lived in. how does a human be so beautiful up close, he wondered.
brendon grazed his purple nails on the handsome human's throat, feeling blank and soft skin. unlike himself. his throat was covered with gills on both sides.
his fingers soon came into play as he shifted toward the human's cheeks. he traced the visible cheekbones. brendon can't help himself. he knew that his friends and family would hate if him they ever saw him acting like this.
he's supposed to be a siren. not some mermaid who falls in love with a human. what a mistake.
brendon doesn't want to make another mistake with another human. he let one go since they were awful nice but ended up hurting him in the end. but something about this one was different to him.
he set down his hands and stared at the blue-eyes sailor. brendon never seen eyes that held the ravaging seas, however, looked gentle and calm.
previous sailors had eyes that held angry thunderstorms and chilly winters. brendon didn't like those scary eyes.
the sailors with eyes of violence never returned home.
brendon turned his head to the object, examining it closely. it almost seemed brand-new. he wanted so badly to learn how to play it.
when he turned around to see the seemingly kind soul sailor's wasn't in his trance anymore.
there was a strong flash of fear stricken in brendon.
