As Ryan and Chad were bantering about something else and Dallon decided to drop the discussion, he stared at Brendon. Seeing him, laying there with focus on the two friends made Dallon happen in a way. He was still shoving chips into his mouth and when he finally noticed Dallon's attention, he waved.
"Hey, so, what do you think of them?" Dallon looked at the guys and then back at Brendon.
"they nice people," Brendon smiled. "are you okay? you seem sad again."
Dallon wasn't good at hiding his thoughts or feelings at times. Perhaps sirens can dissect human emotions better than actual humans.
"Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry about me." Dallon gave him a smile back and wanting to change the conversation before Brendon had anything else to say, he said, "Does your throat hurt all those eating those chips?"
The siren titled his head in confusion. "t-t-th-ro-a-at?"
Whenever the siren didn't know certain words and tried to pronounce them, was the cutest thing to Dallon. Dallon giggled and put his head against his throat.
"This!"
"oh! you mean, drbykd!" The creature replied. That must be from the siren's native language!
"Is that the equivalent to throat in your language?" Dallon asked and Brendon nodded his head. "You should teach me your language someday, Bren, it'd be nice."
Their conversation seemed to head south, diminishing into a nothing. They would usually have something to talk about but it felt different. Perhaps it was the presence of Dallon's others friends. Brendon still seemed so offput by them.
Past experiences can change a person or in this case, a siren, so, Dallon should ask.
"Hey, Brendon," The two bickering men quiet down and looked at Dallon with curiosity. "Have you met other humans before?"
His eyes looked to a different direction and his mouth twitched slightly. He hesitantly nodded.
"Dallon! You made him all sad now!" Chad was quick to notice the siren's sudden change in his aura. Ryan agreed with Chad's statement.
"I'm sorry! Really. If it was a traumatic memory, you don't have talk about it. I don't want to force you to do anything." Dallon instantly felt terrible. He should have known that Brendon may have a terrible experience with humans before him.
"it's okay! i had, um, a not good one with one." Brendon mumbled, fiddling with the empty bag with his purple fingernails.
"I see. I'm sorry for asking, can you forgive me?" Dallon asked and smiled.
"i forgive you, dally!" With the mention of the nickname, Ryan and Chad cooed at the pair.
"Thank you, Brendon." The experienced sailor had blushed and gave the siren a thoughtful look.
"Brendon?" Chad called. "Have you ever thought about seeing the world? More than the sea world?"
"Yeah! That sounds like a really good idea, Chad!" Ryan exclaimed. Although, the humans found the idea spectacular, Brendon seems to have shrunk in his size. With a bent posture and a scared facial expression, Dallon was quick to notice this change.
"But, of course, Ryan and Chad, we cannot force him to do things he doesn't want to do." Dallon gave a relaxing smile at Brendon and he didn't look so small anymore.
"Right, right, sorry, I just thought we shouldn't keep him as some secret, y'know?" Chad explained his previous proposition. Ryan had sat down, watching the other men talk.
"I don't think the world is quite ready for Brendon and the rest of the sirens. I mean we have freaked out over song releases and the color of a dress or a shoe!" Dallon countered with Brendon nodding shyly.
"God, you two are adorable!" Chad squealed, dropping the whole world conversation.
"dally?" Brendon asked for the sailor's attention.
"Yeah, Bren?" Dallon turned around and was met with the slightly cold lips of the siren. Ryan and Chad has stood up, watching the odd pair kiss.
It was an different feeling to Dallon. It almost felt wrong but right at the same time. Dallon hadn't kiss anyone in a while and it felt nice to give Brendon warmth with his lips.
When Brendon had let go, Dallon was red all over and Brendon smiled ear to ear.
"i like you so much, dally. it's silly, right?" Brendon seemed afraid of what Dallon might say or react.
"W-well, I guess if you like me, it wouldn't hurt to like you back." Dallon's eyes shifted from his friends, who were nodding excitedly, and then to Brendon who was also blushing.
Maybe Dallon's life wouldn't be so lonely now.
