*Two Days Later*

Why? That’s what I haven’t gotten. I also haven’t gotten whether I should believe it or not. I have no proof to show for what she said. I couldn’t just pop up and say “hey did you really screw her?” That just, to me, wouldn’t sound very good.

Sitting in his living room watching whatever movie is on. This doesn’t feel right. At all. I’m not sure if it’s just me or if the tension and awkward is a mile thick.

“Aiden.”

He turned his head to look at me. His blue eyes were sparkling but it just wasn’t going to work tonight.

“Jennifer talked to me the other day. In person too . I know this is going to sound accusing or whatever but I’m not. I just want an answer.” He was now looking down with his lips pressed in a thin line. His arm was thrown over the back of the couch and his ankle was under his knee. He lifted his eyes to look at me, “I’m listening.”

I moved my head to look into his eyes. I felt my beanie slide back when I did it. “Sh-she said you and her had uh been-” this isn’t very easy to spit out “been messin’ around.”

“So basically you’re believing what Jennifer, of all people, says?”

“I didn’t say I believed it. I was just asking.” Thanks for making me feel stupid. It was a simple answer. The only difficult part was getting the truth out.

“Yeah but we all know in that little head of yours, in the back of your mind, you’re always gonna wonder it.” I knew he was right. So I might as well just give up. I still haven't gotten my answer though. I mean is it so hard to answer a question?

"Aiden, why didn't you just answer the question?"

Once again he looked at me, his face was totally serious. "Because I shouldn't have to."

Yeah like that was totally an answer.

"That's not an answer." At that point he stood up and walked into his room. Where was he going? The conversation isn't over sir. I lifted myself off the couch and started to walk in the direction of his room. I reached the door way to the hallway as he walked out of his room. He put his hands up and flung something at me. Lifting my hand up as it hit the palm of my hand. It was soft and not hard. Like a shirt or piece of clothing. Piece of clothing. Looking down into my hand I realized what was just thrown at me.

The black underwear. The pair with lace that had mysteriously disappeared until a short time ago when they resurfaced at Shain's house.

"And these are?"

"I believe you should know." He pointed to the underwear in my hands. "I mean since Jennifer wears a small. Alex wears a large. Look at the size. Paisley you're the only girl around any of us that wears a medium. So why don't you tell me what those are."

"Aiden how would you know what underwear size Jennifer wears? Or Alex for that matter."

I mean duh.

"Well for one I've been at your house when you've done laundry. Two, Alex isn't very modest so she just blurts things out. Three, I've held Jennifer's underwear in my hand."

In his hand? What the hell. Oh but this is gonna be my fault? No I don't think so. I asked a question. I didn't accuse him of anything. If he's gonna admit it then that's on him not me. The underwear are from Shain's house. His house...where. "Did we just admit that we've cheated on each other?"

He kinda shook his head and sucked on his lip as he looked at me, "yep, believe so".

Eventually we just gave up and I drove home. Me and Aiden were over at that point. There was no explanation needed.

I pulled my phone out because I knew exactly who I needed to talk to. Timmy. We'd been on speaking terms for a while since everyone thought we'd had a fall out. Eventually we did stop talking. It was because of Daesi and Melody. I don't enjoy associating myself with them and Timmy does so I was like nope done.

Paisley: Are we still friends?

Timmy: of course bbygirl

Paisley: I'm not your baby girl. I just needed to know.

Timmy: you need someone to talk to don't you?

Paisley: yeah, only if the past could be changed.

Timmy: want me to come over?? i can probably help. i promise.

Paisley: Sure, come on over.

Before I knew it there were familiar headlights pulling in my driveway. He must have been close by when we were texting. I opened the door and let him in. “Long time no see.” I say while I’m letting him in.

He looks at me then grabs me into a big hug and in my ear, “it’s been too long.”

“I know.” I’m looking at him. We start walking towards the bonus room. “Ti-” “Pai-” We cut each other off. “No you first.” We say in unison. He speaks first, “Paisley, does this mean I’m staying?” I thought about it for a second. “Yeah, I hope so. Let’s not let each other ruin it again.”
