After the fun time in the elevator we walked outside and headed onto main street. Main street was covered with little shops and restaurants. We went into my favourite store but Nathan fealt horribly out of place. It was this frilly girly boutique. It was all pink and had leaopard print and zebra print EVERY WHERE.
"Well, it's like shopping with my sister!" He said looking around the place laughing.
"Hey! It's what girls like!" I teased walking over to a rack with a cute top on it. I picked it up and showed it to him. It was a purple tanktop that had glittery stars all over the front and the back was tied in a bow.
"Uhm I think half of the back is missing." He said pointing at it.
"Hold on." I giggled as I walked over to the fitting room. I came out with the top on. The back wurved down at the top and up at the bottom with a little ribbon in the middle, holding the top and the bottom close together.
"Oh I see it's supposed to show your back!" He observed the shirt.
"Do you like it?" I asked turning in a circle.
"Yeah it's nice." He didn't really know what to say and I could tell.
"I think it's adorable! I love it!" I told him looking down at the shirt.
"Well it's not as adorable as you!" I ran over and hugged him.
"Nath this is what makes me love you, you're not afraid to say stuff like 'it's not as adorable as you' in public. Or in a little shop especially when you're the only STRAIGHT boy who has ever stepped foot in here." I kissed him on the cheek and popped my leg up quick.
"Aaaawh isn't that cute." The lady at the cash register said to the other worker. She pointed at us. I walked back the dressing room and changed back into Nath's misfits shirt. I tucked it into the front of my jeans and let it bubble over a little. The back hung out and it looked very trendy. Nathan payed for the shirt and we walked out. We were walking up the street holding hands about to go get some ice cream just as my phone went off. I fealt around my jean pockets for it and found it. I looked at the screen ' Mom calling' it said.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Uhm hi. When are you going to be home?" She asked a bit worried into the phone.
"Uhm how's 15 minutes? We're walking on main street right now. We can walk home."
"Ok, that's good. Uhm is Nathan free for lunch? We'd love to meet him."
"Erm, we?" I asked.
"Yeah. Me and your father."
"Oh right! Let me ask." I held the phone on my soulder.
"Hey want to come by my house for lunch and meet my erm... parents?" I asked him. "I know it's a little early but they're asking to meet you."
"Yeah, I'm good, sounds lovely." He responded winking at me.
"He said sure." I told my mom.
"Ok see you in about 25 minutes then." She hung up the phone and i exhailed loudly.
"Ok Nathan, here it goes! You're meeting my parents. I'm pretty convinced they think something happened last night since I stayed the night. great. " I told him sounding, oh so enthused...
"Haha alright. It will be nice to meet them. See how the parents of this beautiful girls are."
"Oh stop. I said smacking him jockingly on the shoulder. "I'm not beautiful." I said. He stopped walking. I kept going, he took my wrist and pulled me back to him very slowly and gently.
"What did you say?" He asked quietly, looking directly in my eyes.
"Uhm," I bit my lip. "I said I'm not beautiful. Why?" I asked puzzled.
"Kayla, you are the prettiest girl I have ever seen. You're perfect it every way imaginable. Even your flaws are perfect." He started to hold my hand again and we kapt walking.
"Nathan!" I exclaimed. I squeezed his hand a little bit. We walked to my house and got inside. I set my keys on the counter remembering my car was still at the hotel.
"I'm home!" I yelled, I heard someone walking down the stairs, it was my mother.
"Hello sweety." She gave me a hug.
"Hi mom. So this is Nathan." I turned towards him.
"Hello there darling." She gave him a motherly hug.
"Hello!" He said cheerfully. My dad walked into the room. Silence fell apon us all as my dad starred at Nathan...
Awkward...
"Hello sir, I'm Nathan." He stuck his hand out and my father shook it.
"Hello! I'm Kayla's dad, you can call me Jeff!" He said smiling finally.
"Oh and I'm Lisa by the way." My mom chimed in smiling. "I'm just going to order a pizza or something, is that alright?" Me and Nath looked at eachother.
"We actually just had pizza last night, but I guess it's ok?" I turned to Nath again.
"Oh it's fine!" He said looking at me and then my mom.
"Great!" She told us. "Well make yourself at home. Kayla why don't you show him around?" She picked up the phone and dialed the number.
"Ok, follow me!" I told him taking his hand. "Well the room we came in is the kitchen, that;s why there's a refridgerator! This is the dinning room, over there is the living room." I said pointing to the room with the huge tv, sofa, and over sized chair in it. "Now upstairs is all the rooms." We walked up. "That's my parents room which I don't think you need to see. haha, that's my sisters room," I pointed to the green room with butterflies all over it. "And this," I pushed open the door. "Is my my room." We walked in. It was sort of funny because I had The Wanted posters all over my walls.
"Well look at those five boys! Who are they?" He asked pointing to the poster of the boys.
"Just this lame band that I can't stand." I said nudging his shoulder and laughing.
"Wow! That's a lot of films!" He said pointing to all the DVD's.
"Yeah!" I picked up Ice Age and put it into the blu ray player. I sat down on the bed and Nathan sat next to me, we were leaned up agains the headboard, his arm around my nck and drapped over my shoulder. I was leaning on him.
"Jeff, come here!" My mom whispered outside of the doorway to my room. My dad came over, my mom pointed at us and my dad looked too. "Is that not the cutest thing?" She said. It honestly looked like she was about to cry but I just ignored them and watch the movie.
