47. "You're in trouble" (mocking)

48. "Crap, what did I forget?"

Jace and (Y/N) were the chill type of couple. Whenever his siblings got in lover quarrels, as he liked to call them, he would shrug and boast about never fighting with you. Obviously you had a few small things like put the toilet seat down, no weapons in bed, don't touch your food but they were only tiny things.

However now he had messed up. Big time.

You had sent Alec and Izzy out to find Jace while you paced the room fuming. Alec found him first in the weapons room polishing a seraph blade. Typical. "(Y/N) looking for you." Alec said in a monotone voice. "And it wont be good for you to keep them waiting." Alec walked away without saying anything else. Even though Jace was his parabatai he still silently sided with you.

Jace took the warning light heartedly. He thought that Alec was trying to wind him up and he had just left the toilet seat up or something like that. As he got closer to your room he saw Iz leaving your room. "You're in trouble." She sang and began to walk away.

He saw Clary walking past and decided to ask just encase. "Are Alec and Izzy being serious? Did I do something?"

She scoffed. "Wow." She rolled her eyes. "Your memories that bad, huh?" With that Clary walked away shaking her head. Clary and Alec had finally agreed on something, your side. Izzy had less to say but found it funny that Jace was about to get his ass handed to him.

"Crap! What did I forget?" He whispered to himself while preparing to open the door. As soon as he stepped in a dagger, your weapon of choice, embedded its self into the door frame about two feet away from his face.

He put his hands up in surrender. "You twat!" You walked over and ripped the dagger from the wall, flinging it onto the bed. "Why the hell did you do that?"

He was genuinely confused. He shut the door without taking his eyes off you. "Do what?" He asked slowly.

"Ugh!" You began pacing again. "You completely forgot about me and left me!"

"What? When?" He moved further into the room. He grabbed the dagger and put it in his pocket. Just encase.

"Yesterday. You planned a date." With each pause you walked closer. "You made the plan." He backed up. "You asked me." He was right against the door now. "And then you didn't show up or even text me!" With that last one you went to push him put he grabbed your wrists.

"My bad babe. I had to cover border patrol last minute. I thought you knew." He said softly. You yanked your hands out of his and walked away to the middle of the room.

"How would I know? I ain't a mind reader." You sat on your desk. "You know you left me their so long but I waited anyway. Yeah I did. I had a couple drinks and the barman said 'first date gone bad huh?'. Hear that first date! Not boyfriend. Hell about five different downworlders tried to flirt with me in the space of an hour!"

"You didn't do anything though. Right?" He said warily.

You got of the desk and put your hands on your hips. "You're damn well lucky I didn't!" You sighed and walked over to the bed and flopped down onto it. You rubbed your face with your hands and you both stayed in silence for a few minutes.

"I now know were busy," You started softly. "and I can get it. It happens. But you didn't even think to text me. When Alec told you to cover the shift you didn't put up a big fight. Or one at all. When I asked him he said you didn't even seem to annoyed." He walked closer and a couple tears slipped down your face.

"Then this morning when I woke up after going to bed by myself and saw you lying in bed hugging me, like nothing happens..." You trailed off for a moment. "I couldn't stand to just lay there so I went on a mission first thing. It hurt to much to think how easy it is for you to forget me. It makes me wonder if you only care when it matters for your appearance. When you can say that we never fight. Were the 'perfect couple' and when you can 'show me off'."

"Babe I always care." He knelled down in front of you. "I swear I do. I'm just so proud I got such an amazing girl." He paused. "When it comes to the date I admit, now that I know, I messed up big. I assumed, wrongly so, was tired and saw you lying there. You looked so perfect and all I wanted was to be close to you. I'm so sorry babe. All I do is love you and I'm truly sorry I didn't think."

"You're still a jack ass." You mumbled.

"I know." He tipped your head up to look you in the eyes. "But I'm your jack ass."

"For now." You mumbled but this time with a smile. He laughed as did you. "But your sleeping in your old room for a week." You said with a straight face.

"What? No fair!" He whined instantly.

"Tough luck buddy. Be glad it ain't the couch." He grumbled something about you being hot when you're tough and it being unfair then stood up. "Get out then." You lightly pushed him out since it was late. You called out to him down the hall way. "And no forgetting!"
