"So she's caught up in all her work, correct?" Mama asked my teacher.
"Yes. She's a good student. She raise her hand when she needs something, turns in all her work, all her home works, doesn't mind helping other students. Nessa is just an little angel."
I smiled at my mama while she smiled back. She thought I was lying about turning in all my work and passing my test and quizzes.
"I heard that she had to make up a test?" Mama looked at me.
"Yes, she wasn't here when she was supposed to take that test so she had to make that test up."
"Mhm. Did she passed that test?"
Mrs. McCroy nod her head. "What was the percentage again Nes? 86? 87?"
"86%." I said smiling.
Mama pulled me closer towards her. "I just wanted to know how she was doing in school. I don't want us going to New York next week and finding out that back here at Los Angeles she was getting bad grades."
"I understand. Same thing with my twins." Mrs. McCroy laughed. "We're going to missed you when you leave next week Nessa, you know that right?"
I nod. "Yeah. I'm going to miss everyone else too." I looked down at my shoes.
"Alright," Mama got her keys out. "Let's go Nes. We still got boxes to packed."
"Okay." I got my backpack off my desk and walk out the classroom with my mama following me.
"See you on Monday, Nessa." I heard my teacher say.
"See you then!" I shouted back.
