Chapter Two

Nessa

"Nessa honey, wake up, time for school." Momma said while shaking me.

"Just...5 more min-NO 6 more minutes." I was having a good dream and I was not trying to end it early.

"No sweetie wake up before you be late." Momma whine.

"UGH! Okay." I got out the bed. "I'm up."

"See, now was that so hard." Momma said sarcastically.

"Very!"

"Oh well. Get ready for school. When you get done, come down stairs with your brother and I for breakfast." After that, momma left my room.

I walked into the bathroom. I wash up, brush all 27 of my teeth, (26 cause one is coming out) and put on my clothes. After when I was done with everything I had to do, I went downstairs to eat breakfast.

Rayan

"Rayan Lopez! Get up and get ready for school!" Mama yelled at me.

"Okay Ma!" I got out of bed and stretch.

"You already know the routine for the mornings, when you get done there's cereal downstairs waiting for you." After that she left me alone.

I walked into the bathroom. Before I turned on the hot water I step in some pee. EWW! ReRe, my little sister; must of been sleep walking again. I thought she stop every since mama hit her for peeing on the floor last time. I should get it up before ma finds out. After I cleaned up the pee, I wash up, brush my teeth, and got my clothes on; I went downstairs to eat.

Nessa

"Diggy! Stop trying to take one of my Waffles." Diggy, my big brother always trying to steal a Waffle from me.

"I wouldn't steal it if you just give me it." Diggy said still trying to steal a Waffle.

"Daniel. Stop trying to steal Nessa's Waffle. You're 16 for crying out loud, go ahead and cook you another Waffle, you got time." Momma said.

"30 minutes Mom. It takes 17 minutes just to cook four Waffles." Diggy do have a point there.

"Well damn, how many Waffles you making?" Momma said while drinking her coffee.

"About 10 or more." Diggy said.

"Uh-uh, Nope, you is not going to waste all of the Waffle Mix. Sorry sweetie." Momma unplug the Waffle Maker and puts it up.

"Come on Ma, just one Waffle? Diggy pleaded.

"Nope." Momma grab her keys "It's time for you and your Sister to school anyway."

"Alright." Diggy grab his keys "Do you want me to take Ne to school today"

"Yeah. Can you pick up Rayan for me, I call his mom and told her I was going to pick him up, but I have to go to work today."

"Yeah sure." I could tell Diggy didn't want to.

"Thanks Honey." Momma kissed his checks. "Well, I'm leaving. Daniel please try to get the kids on time this time." Momma cross her arms.

"Well dang, you make the kids late one time! Come on Nessa." Diggy open the door and walked out.

"Here I come." I hugged Momma. "Bye Momma." I walked out the door and into the car.

Rayan

"Can I have so more Coco Puffs?" ReRe said.

"No Re! This is your third bowl of cereal, now sit your greedy ass somewhere!" Ma yelled at Re.

I looked at ReRe to see a tear left her eye. I'm used to it actually. Ma always yell at her every time she ask for another bowl of cereal, if Re ask for another bowl of cereal the first time, yeah Ma would give her another, but the second time...Ma will be mad. That's why I be scared to ask for another bowl.

"Rayan get ready for school, Nessa's Mom is taking you to school today." Mama said, doing the dishes.

"Okay.

"Shut up, just get ready." Mama look at me with a evil look.

"Well dang." I said my underneath my breath.

I know what you're thinking. Your Ma is so mean. She was really a nice person a long time ago...she was! I remember when I was 6 and ReRe was 3, she would always hugs us, kiss us, let's us get all the cereal that we wanted. That all ended when Daddy left Ma for Ma's Sister. After that she became meaner and uncaring to Re and I. I always wanted to spend the night at Nessa's house because her mom doesn't yell at her to wake up and they eat different kinds of breakfast everyday, not cereal everyday. But hey it could be worse, Ma could hit us for no reason like one on my friends at school Ma does.

"Rayan They're here." I tried to give Ma a hug but she push me away. "Get out before you be late." I looked at Ma with hurt in my eyes, sometimes I just wish Daddy never left.

Nessa

We pulled up in front of Ray's house and Diggy blew the horn. Ray came out the house all sad and stuff, I had to find out what's wrong with my best friend.

"Hey Ray"

"Hi Nessa" Ray looks out of the window, now I know something is wrong with him.

"What's wrong? You look all sad." I said, playing in his hair.

"Yeah, what's wrong Ray. Right now you would be making us laugh." Diggy said.

"I'm just a little sick." Ray is a bad liar, I know if he's sick or not and right now...he's lying.

"Oh. Well, I hope you feel better soon." I decided to play along with his little game just for now, but I will find out what's wrong with him.
