Radioactive Secrets (Melvin & Mia)

We have been best friends for a couple of years now, and I'm proud of that. Being best friends meant that you shared everything with each other, no matter how embarrassing or stupid they are, for us anyway. Until that one week where things went insane.

I was just sitting around my house, flipping through TV channels. Melvin was fooling around with some new spells that he learned himself which included: Flower pots floating around the house along with my cat, The door being invisible, which I found out when I walked into where the door was and slamming myself into it, and something about a living spell which I didn't really wanted to know what the heck that was.

I watched Melvin levitate from my bedroom into the living room with a smirk on his face. I crossed my arms and just sighed.

"Well it looks like your having fun up there. Where's my cat?" I asked smiling lightly.

"Somewhere in the bathroom.. I think.."

"Well not to be rude but can you not make him levitate around the house? I kinda want an alive cat at the moment."

"Don't worry, Leo's fine."

"But still.. can you set him down.. please?"

He sighed and the inside of his palm swirled with green-like light and everything automatically went back to normal. I'm still amazed at how he does this sorta of stuff with just one hand.

"Better?"

"Yes thank you." I smiled and booped his nose. He just stuck his tongue out as usual.

A few minutes later, we relaxed on the couch, watching some boring TV show that was randomly on. I had Leo in my lap, petting him softly while Melvin just used a levitation spell to get some drinks from the fridge.

"You're lazy you know that right?" I said, half smiling.

"Yeah I know. You are too."

"Lazy buddies for the win."

"Yep."

I really couldn't find anything to talk about, other than what spells he learned while I was away on vacation. Might as well talk about that.

Before I could get a word out, Melvin quickly stood up, staring into space.

"Uh are you okay?"

No answer.

"Hello?"

Still no answer. I was about to speak again until he coughed loudly, sounding like he spit up something. I was mildly concerned for him and stood up, shaking his shoulder. He didn't move. I started to violently shake him.

"Are you hypnotized or something? Wake up!" I shouted into his ear.

He violently jumped in surprise, almost slapping me in the face. I just flinched in response, staring at him.

"Hey are you okay? You blacked out on me for a minute there."

"Yeah. I'm fine.. I think.."

"Okay. Just making sure."

I sighed in relief, taking my hand off of his shoulder. He just turned and looked at me with a serious expression. I stared back at him, breaking the silence.

"Is there something you wanna tell me?" I asked curiously.

"Do you mind if I leave and come back tomorrow? I just feel under the weather today."
