Hudson's POV 2200+ words

(VALENTINES SPECIAL!)

"One more day, my love." Avery said cheerily as she kissed my cheek gently.

"Mmm I know." I hummed.

"I can't believe it's been that long already. That's crazy!" She exclaimed.

"5 years." I whispered.

"5 years." She echoed.

I pulled her into my lap and hugged her tightly. She rested her head on my shoulder and drew shapes on my arm with her fingers. She does that all the time. She finds it comforting and I guess I agree. It is pretty relaxing actually.

"Hey, I have a surprise for you. I think you'll like it." She said.

"Mhm, what is it?" I asked.

"I'm taking you somewhere." She giggled.

"Where, angel?" I asked, running my fingers through her hair.

"It's a surprise." She replied, batting her eyelashes.

"Aw, c'mon Aves. Pleeeaase." I pouted.

"We're going today. Whenever you want to leave." She got up off my lap and sassily walked away.

"Fine, I'll leave without you then." I said, crossing my arms.

"First of all, you have no idea where or what it is. Second, you still haven't taken or passed your driver's test. So, hmph." She said in mock annoyance.

"All good points. But I didn't say I would be driving or where I would be going. So, hmph." I stuck my tongue out at her.

She turned around and walked away, but I knew she'd be back soon. She wasn't mad. She was just trying to hide her laughter and she'd be back to tackle me in a minute. One of the many things I love about her is she can't stay mad at anyone (or anything), even if it's a joke.

I got up off the couch and hid under the dining room table. An obvious spot, but it's fun to play along with her games.

"Hudson." She dragged on my name eerily. "Where are you?"

I stayed silent and didn't move. I half expected her to run around the corner holding a toy gun or plastic knife or something to scare me. That would be quite an experience.

"Hudson. I'm gonna leave without you and then we'll both be upset, so come out before I do." She said plainly.

"Ugh fine. I'm here, look." I groaned, crawling out between the chairs.

"Ha! I knew that would get you. I still have to get ready and so do you. It was a trick!" She shouted.

I ran up to her and picked her up. I threw her onto the couch and pinned her down. I watched her eyes go wide and I smirked.

"Now who's getting tricked?" I purred.

"W-well this was u-unexpected." She stammered.
