Blaze's POV             1200+ words

(Warning: violence & vampire bite)

It wouldn't have to be like this. Nothing has to be like this. Everything could be different. I wouldn't have to be like this. It's ridiculous.

To clarify why I'm so upset, getting bitten by a vampire isn't exactly the best thing to happen to someone. Being born human and having a great, happy life is fun. And then being bitten by a vampire IN YOUR OWN FUCKING NEIGHBORHOOD changes everything. It makes you angry. You change. Everything changes. All you want is revenge.

To get this, though, you have to wander into the next town over where there aren't any mystical creatures and find an awaiting victim. This must be done at night, so you don't get your skin burned off and die. Avoid everyone except your chosen victim and look inconspicuous. I would know since that's exactly what I've decided to do tonight.

Yes, I know, that probably makes me a horrible person, but frankly I don't care. I don't care about anything. After 'the incident' it was hard to care about anything. I just can't.

So, it led me to this. Stalking a teenage girl to inject my blood into her and turn her into a vampire. For revenge. Because I can't care. It's stupid. But it makes sense. Somehow.

The girl has jet black hair, clearly unnatural and dyed. It was also unnaturally straightened, but flowed nicely down to the middle of her back. She had light green eyes and a pointed nose. Her lips complimented her high cheekbones and jawline. She was actually really pretty, but it didn't matter. She was my victim. I wasn't going to kill her, but actually do the opposite. I was going to bite her and turn her into a vampire, making her virtually immortal.

She walked down the sidewalk, cell phone in one hand and the other shoved into a hoodie pocket. It was quite late at night, so there were very minimal people around, also considering that this was a very small town.

If I got to the alley about 7 buildings down within less than 2 minutes, I would successfully be able to trap the girl without anyone seeing. A tight squeeze, but doable.

I stared down at my phone, a white screen pulled up to shine light on my face and seem like I was doing something. I occasionally moved my fingers across the screen to make it seem like I was actually doing something, not that anyone would notice anyway, just for precautionary measures.

The time passed quickly and most of the other people on the street were gone and had made their way home or wherever their destination was. This made the job very easy for me. I don't know exactly how it works to bite someone and turn them into a vampire, but I know I have to inject my blood into them somehow. I guess I'll find out.

I picked up my pace to get closer to the girl and waited until we got to the alley. I grabbed her shoulder with one hand and covered her mouth with the other. She struggled and screamed against me, but I was stronger. She couldn't escape. I pulled her into the alley behind a trash bin. She tried to escape again at this point, but I pushed her down and stood above her. She curled her knees against her chest and scooted against the trash bin.

"W-why are y-you doing this? I h-haven't done anything. P-please l-let me go." She stammered.

"The point is you haven't done anything. That's why it's perfect that you're my victim." I cocked my head and smiled, showing off my fangs.

"W-what are you?" She said, bewildered.

"I am what I'm about to make you." I answered. "Now shut up and let me get this over with."

"Get w-what over w-with?" She asked nervously.

"Oh, like you don't know. Y'know, in every horror movie, asking that question triggers the antagonist to attack." I smirked a little, hoping it wasn't visible in the dark alleyway.

"W-wait, you're going to attack me?!" She almost yelled.

"In a way, yes. But I'm also helping you. Now you'll be basically immortal." I remarked, a hint of annoyance in my voice.

"What are y-you t-talking about?!" She exclaimed, sounding almost angry now.

"You haven't figured it out. Really? I'm getting my revenge on someone stupid. Ugh, this was supposed to be easy. I should just stop talking and get this over with. That would've been so much easier. Fucking stupid..." I grumbled.

She opened her mouth to talk but I covered it with my hand. She screamed against my hand and tried to kick me out of the way. I grabbed her shoulder with my free hand and lifted her up to her feet again, not letting her go.

"S-stop struggling god damn it! You won't even feel a thing." I grunted and stomped on her foot.

She winced but continued struggling. I took the opportunity of her being slightly weak and reached down to her neck. I exposed my teeth and bit down onto her, feeling a slight bit of flesh graze my lip. It seemed like she was going to faint with the way she almost, quite literally, fell out of my grasp.

I sucked in some of the blood from the exposed wound on her neck. My teeth shot blood into her body and I pulled them out of her neck. I lifted my head up and looked at her face. Her eyes were squeezed shut like she was in excruciating pain. I know the bite wasn't that bad - I've experienced it.

I let go of her and ran as fast as I could. Away from here. She couldn't have seen my face in the dark, but I needed to get away - and fast. I ran and ran without stopping. My breathing got heavy and I arrived at the entrance of my town. I slowed my pace and headed into the forest next to the town sign.

The trees and dense amount of plant life made it very difficult to run through, but I found what I was looking for. The pathway Andrew and I had made a few years ago. One way lead to his house and the other lead to mine. I went left, which was the way to his house.

He was there, but I knew he'd be. He hardly ever leaves, especially at night. I'm his only friend. I don't know why he chose me over anyone else. I mean, when we first became friends I was really cheery and nice and the only person that actually would willingly talk to him. He was a nice kid; I'm not actually sure why no one talked to him.

I didn't bother knocking since the door was always open anyway. It wasn't a big deal that the door was unlocked because there were robberies very rarely. Also, Andrew's house was in the middle of the forest.

I rushed to his bedroom where I'd seen him through a window. He was on his laptop watching some anime, as expected.

"Blaze, are you okay?" He asked, barely looking up from the screen.

"Yeah, why?" I responded.

"You have blood dripping from your mouth." He said bluntly.

"I do? Oh."

"Um, why exactly?"

"It's a long story."

"I have nothing to do."

I woke up on the couch in Andrew's house, as I did most nights. He was the only one who knew. The only one that knew I'd been bitten and I'd bitten someone. The only person I really trusted.
