Duel with the Demon

To Bargain with a Demon Part 6

LOCATION: High in the mountains (League of Assassins base)

We run through the entire base taking out whoever comes our way together we were near enough an unstoppable force I lead the way as I had memorized the lay out of the base in my short time here but Batman had my back and Tim had his back and Nightwing had Tim's back,

"Do all your vacations end up like this Romanoff?" Nightwing yells above all the noise 

"Only the ones that you will ever know of" I smile although when I really think about it most of my excursions tend to end in disaster of some sort or another

As we reach a huge plain room filled with the heavy duty digging equipment I raise my hand causing all of the boys behind me to stop in their tracks 

"What are you doing?" Batman asks as I reach to where I hid the bomb that I built a few days prior and thankfully it is still there in a small gap in the wall which I covered with a crate

The device felt small in my hands my opportunities to make it were unfortunately very short, but I'm fairly confident that there is enough explosives in there to cause some serious damage 

<fairly confident, still I work with what I could find> 

"All of Ras al Ghul's assassins are going to come running this way I need you to buy me some time whilst I take care of some business" I tell Batman he looks at the device in my hand and nods his head

"We will by you as much time as you need Black Widow" he replies I turn around and run straight into the main digging room.

I look back at the boys and they are all fighting to keep Obu and some other assassins off my back 

I feel angry at myself for leaving them to fight my battle for me, never in all my life had I ran away from a fight but the small device in my hand reminded me that I had other work to do.

"GO NATASHA!" Batman Yells. 

I obey that order and race off as quickly as my legs will carry me but as I approach the huge metal door that lead to the digging room I would have to admit to a second of hesitation  

I already know who I'm going to run in to because as much as I hate to admit it I know Ras al Ghul as much as he knows me, but I suppose it's time to get this over with. 

I clasp my hand around the cold door handle and push the heavy door slowly so I could enter as soundlessly as possible 

<not that stealth is going to do me any good with all that noise in the background>

I look into the centre of the room where a figure in an emerald green cloak stands mere inches from the edge of the gaping hole, I see his posture change as he senses my presence he slowly turns to face me.

I didn't enjoy our confrontations there is too much history here people who I usually fight against these days know next to nothing about me and I was comfortable with that

"I am very disappointed Ms Romanoff we could have accomplished great things" he says staring into the deep hole, his voice pulls me out my thoughts as I couldn't help but notice no other men around all of this felt so staged like he wants to fight me, he wants to kill me 

He takes his sword out the light shines directly into my eyes as it bounces off of the smooth steel that was his sword,

"It's a good thing that I don't live to impress you Ras" I reply and I pick up a nearby sword that was conveniently lying on the floor
