Chapter 4: Warning

And thank goodness I did. After my first two classes of the day I was happy to see Jasper sitting down in my next class. He saw me come in and waved me over. I took the seat next to him and slid my bag onto the floor.
    "Hey".
    "Hey". He said back in that perfect tone of his.
    "Well I didn't get lost". I said trying to start up a conversation. He laughed and turned his body fully so it was facing me completely.
     "I can see that. How was your first two classes?"
     "If I'm being honest it was utterly boring". I just blurted out. "Compared to my old school you guys are so behind us".
    "That bad?" He uttered in between laughs. I groaned.
     "I'm not insulting you guys, but having to re learn all this stuff isn't what I had in mind".
Jasper placed his elbow on the black table and looked into my eyes. He seemed to look fascinated by what I was saying.
     "You will be an expert then Hannah".
I groaned.
     "Joy. Thanks so much Jasper".
     "Mr. Lee could ask you to be his star student". He added.
     "Your trying to piss me off aren't you?" I smirked at him. Jasper smiled and looked away from him.
    "Never". He was so playing innocent. Rolling my eyes I laid my head in the palm of my hand just as our teacher walked in. Which proceeded me and Jasper's conversation to end.
      "Your Hannah right?" As the bell for class sounded a girl with long black hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail with round glasses smiled up at me.
     "Yeah".
She stuck out her hand. "I'm Angela. A friend of Bella's". I smiled and took her hand. Bella had told me loads about Angela Weber and how nice she was to her. She seemed like a really nice person.
    "Oh right. Bella told me about you. It's nice to meet you".
     "Nice to meet you too". She handed me a pink flyer and pointed to the date.
     "I know it's hard being a new student and being senior when we're all about to graduate".
You have no idea.
     "Oh yeah".
     "You should come help us set up the gym for graduation. It'll be fun and a great way to meet more people". She suggested. Glancing down at the flyer I smiled. Maybe I would help them out. I was all up for trying something new and didn't have plans after school must days.
    "Sure why not". I agreed. Angela smiled when I agreed to help out. She then ripped out a piece of notebook paper and proceeded to scribble something down. Then she handed me that paper.
    "That's my number". I folded it up and placed it in my pocket.
     "If you ever need anything just let me know. Well then I better get to my next class. See ya around Hannah". I waved bye to Angela as she rushed out of the classroom and down the hall.

    "Can I ask you something Jasper?" Jasper smiled as he walked me to Bella's truck which he had been doing for the past three days. Jasper had been a real gentleman towards me. Showing me around school and all that that. It was quite nice to get to know him better.
    "Hannah I'm afraid you just did".
I sighed. "I-wow" I laughed.
    "Ask me anything you wish".
With the wind picking up I threw my bag into the old truck through the window and turned to find Jasper and another handsome much larger figure next to him. This big was built. Like really built. Something told me that he could have been a pro wrestler if he wanted to.
    "Hey". He smirked.
    "...hey..umm"
Jasper sighed.
     "Hannah this is our other adoptive brother Emmett". Jasper glared at him. "Emmett this is-"
Before Jasper could even finish introducing me Emmett pulled me into a big Bear hug. Making it very hard for me to breath.
    "Oh I know who you are". He said.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "You do?"
    "Course your Jasper's girlfriend". Girlfriend?! What was this guy talking about. I had even known Jasper for 24 hours yet! I just stared at him with my dark green eyes.
   "Emmett please your -"
  "Were just friends. I've only known Jasper for a few hours".
    "Maybe not yet".

That evening after finishing all my easy homework I decided to creep downstairs to make myself a sandwich when that the porch door was open and Jake was sitting on the steeps with his head between his knees.
    "Hey". I placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to whack me across my arm. "Easy Jake it's just me".
  "Don't sneak up on me Han". He growled.
Jacob hadn't called me Han since we were little. He used to use it as an insult.
     "I'm sorry". What was his problem. He seemed just as on edge as Edward was today.
    "You know". I sat down next to him. "You've been freaking me out lately". Jake released his head from his knees.
   "Sorry about that. It's just that I-" he stopped to himself mid sentence.
  "You what?"
He shook his head and stood up from the stairs. As he headed towards the woods near Charlie's house I reached out and latched onto his arm.
    "Hey".
Jacob didn't turn around. Instead he wiped his arm from my grasp as my eyes landed on two tan figures with barely any clothes peeking out from the woods.
   "What the hell?" Stepping backwards Jacob turned his head to the side.
    "Hannah".
    "Jake if your part of some kind of cult I think-"
    "Stay away from the Cullen's".
What? Stay away from them.
    "Look I get that you don't like Edward cause he's dating Bella and your jealous or something but I'm-"
    "There not good for you or Bella". How the hell would Jacob know what's good or not good for me? I had lived with a crappy mom for all my life. I think I could handle myself it's fine. Jacob wasn't my dad. He didn't need to watch out for me like I was some helpless puppy.
    "What the hell does that mean? Jacob your not making any sense". I spat at him.
    "Besides I can make up my own mind on who is bad or good for me. I lived with a mom who didn't give a crap about me. How could the Cullen's be any worse?!"
I could hearing a deep rambling coming from Jacobs body.
    "Just stay away from them". He stated firm turning away. "For Charlie's same".
And with that Jacob vanished with those two boys into the woods. Leaving me wondering what the hell had happened to Forks while I was gone...

   "Hannah". I looked up from the lunch table and saw that Jasper was standing in front of me. I moved my books out of the way and gestured for him to sit down.
    "Are you feeling alright today?"
   "Why do you ask?" I began to put my books away as I glanced at the time on my phone.
     "You seemed preoccupied during class and just now I had to call your name several times before you looked up at me".
     "I'm just tired. I didn't get much sleep last night". That was partly true. After that intense conversation with Jake I couldn't sleep at all. I just kept thinking about what he said. Stay away from the Cullen's. For your own sake and Charlie's. I still couldn't figure out what he meant by that but I didn't have time for it today.
     "You know that's not healthy".
I slung my bag over my shoulder.
    "I know. I just couldn't seem to fall asleep is all".
    "Does that happen often to you Hannah?" I pushed in my chair and walked with Jasper to my last class.
    "...yeah. When my emotions are off it kinda effects my sleep schedule. I'm kinda used to it so it doesn't bother me that much anymore".
Jasper smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. I instantly jumped at the touch of his cold hand on my skin. He removed his hand and stepped back.
    "Well I hope you sleep peacefully tonight Hannah". Jasper vanished from my vision just like that and a wave of peace swept over me. Making me completely forget about Jakes warning.
                           No surprise that class wasn't very interesting. Everything we were doing my school had done months ago. So when the bell finally ran for class to be over I bolted straight for the door and exited the school building in record time.
Walking over to Bella's truck I saw that all the Cullen's were glancing over at me. I shot a glance at them and Jasper gave me a smile. I slowly looked away from them and got into my truck.
      Then I laid my head on the steering wheel. Something was going on with them and Jacob and those weird tan guys. And it seemed that Bella, my cousin, was smack down in the middle.
I wanted to know why, but there was so much going on between graduation coming up being next week and talking to Charlie about extending my vacation here.
I let out a sigh and put my keys into the ignition. So much for a calm stress free new environment. I looked behind me once more before backing out to see that they were still looking over at him. Only this time Jasper was nowhere to be found. I just shook my head and pulled so fast out of that school parking.

Was going to update earlier this week, but my phone got screwed up some how and now next Thursday I have to get my screen replaced or get a new one. Oh boy. Just what I didn't need my first month back at college. Anyways I'll update more soon.
