To New Beginnings [Jasper Hale stand-alone story]

Chapter 3: Strange interaction...

When Jasper stopped his car he turned around in his seat to look at my sister as I noticed Edward leaning up against his car and...Jacob was yelling at him. Before Jasper and Bella could finish their conversation I got out of the car and walked over to them.
    "Jake I hope your not stalking me?" I joked. Jake moved his attention from Edward and within seconds he was happy to see me. He wrapped his big tan arms around me. I laughed and wrapped my arms around him. Jacobs hugs were always the warmest and I bet that would have paid off in the winter.
    "You wish". He pulled away and smiled. "I'm actually here to-"
    "Jacob". Bella said catching up with me. She glared at me then looked back at Jake. "Why haven't you called me back?" Edward moved from his car to my cousin's side. He wrapped one around the back of her shoulders.
Jacob glared at Bella just as Jasper moved in closer to me. Making my heart skip a beat.
     "I had nothing to say". He said emotionless.
Bella inched closer to Jake and further from her boyfriend. Who didn't seem pleased about the situation. "Well I have tons like why where you yelling at Edward?" Jacob glared up at Edward and I knew that something had just pissed him off.
   "She doesn't know?!" I stepped back from everything and looked at Jake. I had never seen this angry side of Jake before I wasn't sure if I liked it. As I continued to look at him I felt a cold hand lay itself on my arm and pull me away from the soon to be showdown.
Jasper lead us both into the front of the school and to the front doors of the office.
     "I apologize Hannah for Edward and Jacobs's behavior. They are not fond of each other I'm afraid". Jasper apologized on their behaves. I shook my head and pulled a strands of my brown curly hair out of my face.
    "Um it's okay".
Jasper smiled.
    "I should probably get my class schedule". Opening the door to the main office I turned back to face him and could see him leaning up against the wall next to the office waiting for me. I just shrugged at it as I went to the last open desk.
    "May I help you miss.."
    "Ah...hi I'm Hannah Beckett. I'm here to pick up my schedule". The old lady smiled and opened the nearest drawer in her desk. I glanced back into the hall to see Jasper still waiting for me. Edward came into my view and stood beside him. No Bella with him. Where did my cousin run off to?
    "Here you go dear". Sliding the piece of paper at me I took it in both hands.
    "Thank you". I thanked her and left the office without even hearing her say have a good day. Jasper leaned away from the wall as he saw me. He smiled that's perfect smile of his and I felt my face grow red again. Damn him. While all this was happening a grin flashed across Edwards face making me stunned.
    "Jasper I think it would be a good idea for you to walk Hannah to her first class. Show her around the school a bit". Edward said out of nowhere. I raised an eyebrow at at him. What was this guys game? It was like he was trying to make me feel uncomfortable on purpose.
    "Only if it's alright with you Hannah".
I smiled.
    "Um..sure why not. I rather not get lost anyways".
     "I would never let you get lost". Jasper replied. I nervously smiled.
     "Okay". I said. "Speaking of lost where is my cousin? Did she just decide to ditch school today?"
Edward turned his back away from us and began to walk down the hallway.
     "Did I say something wrong?"
Jasper shook his head and we started walking down the opposite hall.
     "No. Edward just has a problem with your cousin being friends with Jacob Black". Well that was going to make things a lot more complicated for Bella. Her best friend and boyfriend don't mix. Oh boy. Note to self keep Edward and Jacob away from each other at all times.
    "Do you have a problem with Jake and me being friends?"
Hannah what the hell was that?! Why would it matter to Jasper if Jake and I were  friends?! It's like we're an item.
    "What I mean is-I um-"
Jasper chuckled softly then his laugh turned into a smile.
    "It doesn't bother me. He's your friend Hannah and I wouldn't want to do anything that would upset you". Jasper was so damn calm and collected. It was like he had rehearsed every single word.
      "Thanks.."
     "However if he tries to harm you in anyway my answer would change".
      "Noted".
            As Jasper lead me to my first class of the day the butterflies in my stomach began to fly away. Talking to him made me feel less nervous to be honest. It was like he was taking away all the bad emotions and replacing them with good ones. Not sure how since I had meant him this morning, but some how being near him was making me feel better. I shook my head as Jasper and I parted ways.
A piece of me was sorta disappointed that we didn't have our first class together, but Forks was a small high school and there weren't that many seniors left so i was sure that I'd see him around in another class at some point in the day.

As you can see its set during Eclipse, but not everything happens actually like it does in the book or movie. Anyways yes another Jasper and Hannah chapter.
