Even if I wait forever

Chapter four

It has been 374 years since Katerina or Katherine, as she likes to be called now, changed me. And we have taken the world by storm. We have been everywhere and anywhere you can imagine, never staying in one place for too long. We made men fall in love, broke the rules and fed on anything that moves.

As you probably guessed Katherine turned me into a vampire and I couldn't be happier. I am free. Free from rules. Free from parents. Free from anything that applies to humans.

Today we were arriving in Mystic Falls as we heard that there is a device that can seek out vampires. We arrived at a boarding house. It was me, Katherine and Emily, Katherine's hand maiden.

Emily is also a witch and she created the daylight necklaces we wear so we can go in the sunlight. So we don't look suspicious and only go out at night. Upon our arrival we met the Salvatore's; Giuseppe, Damon and Stefan.

They let us into the house and showed us to our rooms. I went into mine and packed my dresses into the closet. I sat down on the bed and stared out the window.

There is something missing in my life. Love. I have lived almost 5 lives and never have I met someone that stole my heart. I sometimes miss the feeling of being loved. My parents were killed the day I was changed. Katherine refused to answer any questions about that day.

My train of thought was disturbed by a knock on the door. "Come in."

"Miss Darling dinner is ready."

"Thank you Damon, I am not hungry."

"Are you ill, Miss Darling?"

"I do feel a little queasy. Long trip I guess."

"Very well I will inform Miss Katherine."

"Thank you Damon."

It was not long until my door was almost torn out of the wall to reveal a very upset Katherine.

"What is the matter with you? Do you think you are better than me?"

"No never."

"Then come downstairs and have dinner with me. Both the boys are fantastic suitors. Real gentlemen."

I got that strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. She has done this before. She played siblings against each other, made them fall in love with her and then turned them with the promise that they will be together forever. Then she just disappears taking me with her.

"I am not in the mood."

I felt a tug on my hair and landed on my feet outside. Katherine was visible through the window in my room on the second floor. With a blink of an eye she stood right in front of me.

She grabbed me by the throat and pushed me against a tree. "You will do as you are told. I gave you this gift so stop disappointing me."

She lets me down. "Yes Miss Katherine."

Her aggressive nature made her a very strong vampire. She turned off all her human emotions were I kept mine intact. I only acted aggressive to satisfy her.

We both made our way inside toward the dining room. Something tells me that with is not the end.
