“Sapphire? Wake up princess.” I slowly open eyes but struggle to get them into focus. “Hello beautiful.” The smell of blood in front of me made my teeth itch.
“Come on.”
“Johann?”
“Bite sweetie.” He pushed the blood bag into my mouth and I was grateful that there was no vervain in it.
“What are you doing? Why are you feeding me? Did you finally go soft?”
“No Miss Cainn. It is time for you to fight my monster.”
“No. Not happening.”
“You don’t have a choice. Since I strapped you down, I have the last say.”
They took me to a different room. It looked like an arena. I wonder how many people died here. They send Peter in to untie me, he was crying.
“They know Sapphire. They know. They gave you my blood to drink.”
“Peter, I am so sorry.”
“It’s okay. I am dead anyways.”
I hugged Peter. “I am sorry Peter.” Even though I fed on him he became a really good friend. I would hate it if they killed him.
A sudden gunshot brought me out of my daydream. Peter fell from my arms. I turn around furious to see where the shot came from.
“Bucky?” He’s just staring at me. “James?”
“He can hear you, he is not going to respond to you. He is under my command.”
“Bucky?” Tears are now streaming down my face.
Johann turned to Bucky. “Kill her soldier.”
He points the gun at me and pulls the trigger. I dodge the bullet and appear in front of him.
“Bucky.” He places the gun against my chest. I place my hand against his cheek. “Come back to me.”
It looked like a spark of life in his eyes. “Sarah?” His voice was so sweet.
“No. How?”
I got this sadistic smile on my face. “You have no idea.”
“Seize her!” The room was filled with vervain steam and my lungs begin to burn.
“Take him back to the frying pan.” He turns to me. “I think it is time to put you away for safe keeping.”
The guards carried my lifeless body up the stairs to the office at the end. They placed me inside a safe and locked it. I don’t know how I was able to bring Bucky back, but I know that even if I wait forever, I will get out of here and there will be no place they will be able to hide him.
