He parked his bike on the sidewalk next to his apartment building. He got off the bike and took my hand. I placed my foot on the pavement and attempted to swing over the other leg when the one on the pavement slipped. Steve pulled me up and into his arms.

I started giggling. “Maybe I should carry you up?”

“No. Just put me down here. It will pass in a moment. But I don't want the people in the building to see me like this.”

“Okay I will go upstairs and open the window for you.”

“Thanks buddy.”

I sat down against the wall and I slowly felt my consciousness returning. That is when I smelled it, blood. I got up and moved into the direction the smell was coming from. I found 5 drops next to the dumpster by the fire escape.

“Sarah.”

“Steve? I found blood.”

“I know just stay where you are.” He climbed back into his apartment through the window.

I stood there trying to listen to the conversation. There was someone in the apartment with him. Sounds like they new each other. Their conversation did not last long. Gunshots from the opposite building echoed in the alley I was standing in. I climbed up the wall to see the shooter jump to the next building. Suddenly Steve jumps through the window and throws his shield at him.

The assassin catches and throws the shield back like it was nothing and I was just in time to stop Steve from going over the edge.

“I got his scent, do you want me to track him.”

“Yes but be careful.”

I jump of the roof in pursuit of the assassin. A few miles out I lost his scent. “He definitely knows what he’s doing.”

I made my way to the hospital as I knew Steve would still be there. Upon entering I saw him leaving with these men dressed in black. I went outside and sat on the bench at the entrance.

I can’t go to Steve's apartment because it will be swarming with SHIELD agents. So I just sat there staring into the dark. I sat back and placed my elbows on my knees and sighed. I placed my head in my hands.

The door to the hospital opened but I paid no attention to it. I saw black boots in front of me. I looked up to see the same uniform as the people that took the captain away. He brings his hand up and points the gun at my head. A big bang and then a sharp pain in my brain.
