the mute and the bad boy

chapter 1

A/n - so I'm writing a new book, I haven't really done this before but I hope someone out there enjoys this xx

Skye

"Come on love, time to wake up" I hear followed by a blinding light that made my eyes shoot open, I look over to the window and my auntie is putting some of my clothes away in the dresser, I sit up and stretch out, "ready for your first day at a new school"  I nod a simple no as she exits the room.

I climb out of bed and walk over to my closet, I pulled out a pair of black leggings, a white t-shirt and a burganndy cardigan. I walked into my bathroom and did my hair in loose curls and I didn't wear makeup.

"Cone on Skye,  you'll be late" my auntie yelled from the bottom of the stairs, I rolled my eyes and walked down the stairs.

I entered the kitchen and Emma (my auntie) handed me a plate of food, I pushed it away and walked over to the counter to grab an apple, I turned around and she placed the food by the sink, "do you want a ride to school?"she asked I nodded and left her standing in the kitchen.

When I arrived at school I went to the office and they told me to head to the principle's office, I walked up to the door and stopped when I heard talking.

"You'll do this if you want to stay at the school and keep up your bad boy reputation" I heard someone say

"That's not fair, choose somebody else!"

"What did I just say" shortly after comes a groan, I take this opportunity to knock on the door, "come in" I turned the handle but the door opened and I fell face first into someone, "no apology?" He snaps, I glance at the principle and he rolls his eyes, "she's mute, Alex" he says, his face drops and he looks down, "I'm so sorry" his voice was laced with guilt as I make my way over the the desk.

"Take a seat skye" he said gesturing to the two seats in front of his desk, I sat down cautiously and the boy sat next to me on the other chair, "skye, this is Alex he'll be helping you around school for a couple of weeks until you find some friends and whatnot" I nodded and glanced at Alex who seemed very uninterested.

After we left his office, I looked around the crowded hall and worked out all the groups of people, there were the geeks, nerds, goths, emo, the football team and the cheerleaders who were walking towards me, I turn and find that Alex walked down the hall to his friend so I was left on my own.

"And you are?" The head cheerleader said, I simply looked and her, "answer me!" She shouts, I flinched back a bit and they all laugh, "why are you even here" I lower my head and she she starts tapping her foot, "why won't you answer me!" She shouts again, this time everyone in the halls are staring at me, she takes a step closer but somebody stands in her way, "leave her alone Lydia" Alex says annoyance lacing his voice, "why should I?" She barks at him, "because she's new give her break" she rolls her eyes, "how do you know I was bothering her, was I bothering you?" She asks looking at me I nod yes and she gets angry, "why don't you just talk?!" She yells, I look around and everyone is watching this, "cause she's mute dumb-ass" she stops and thinks before a wicked grin appears on her face, Alex rolls his eyes again and grabbed my wrist leading me out of the hall way and to class.

When we reached class I looked around and noticed we were early, I looked at Alex and he was on his phone paying no attention to anyone else.

We stood there for a little while before the hall started to get more crowded, I turned for two seconds to see if Alex was still here but before I had the chance to properly look I was wiped of my feet, I looked up and three girls walked off laughing, I looked down and put all of my stuff in my bag, I look around to make sure it's okay for me to get up when I noticed that Alex was snickering to himself.

I stood up and brushed the dust of my clothes, "are you okay? That was some fall" I turned to meet a tall boy with dark hair, with a tint of blue in the ends, and green eyes, I nodded at him and shrugged, "your the new student, the mute?" He said cautiously incase he offended me, I smiled and nodded happily, "I'm Westley" he beamed, "she's skye" Alex said walking over to us, he turned and smiled at me, "nice to meet skye" he said holding out his hand for me shake, I took at and smiled brightly at him.

Alex rolled his eyes and walked into the class, I waved goodbye to Westley and followed him into class, I though he'd want me to sit on the other side of the room to him but he called me over to sit next to him, I look confused as I took a seat, "it's just until all the teachers know that you don't talk" he said flatly, I nodded at him and turned to the front of the class.

This is going to be a long couple of weeks.
