I don't remember what happened after we bolted, I'm not awake but I want to be, I try my hardest until finally my eyes start to flutter open, I hear a Horribly annoying beeping sound and the room is really bright, I start getting feeling back and realise where I am, the hospital.

"Hey she's awake!" I hear someone yell, Alex. The doctors and nurses came in and helped me sit up, "it's nice to see you awake" He says, his voice is raspy, his hair is messy probably from running his hand through it so many times and he had bags under his eyes, "your safe,are your okay" Lucas said bursting in the room.

But moments later after he noticed who was in the room "This is all your fault!" My brother yells at Alex, "my fault how did I know this was going to happen!" He yells back, I don't want them to fight, "enough this isn't anyone's fault and if you have time blame someone blame me!" I yell over them, they both stop and look at me then each other, "this isn't the time to be fighting, okay how about we pin the blame on our asshole father eh?" Lucas chuckled, me and Alex nodded and chuckled to.

A few hours past, in that time I filled a police report and was told to stay extremely safe, Lucas had to leave and Alex went to pick something up really quick, my gaze turned to the door when I heard a small knock, "hey" He said, "hi kade" I replied, he came over and sat down, I noticed the bandage around his hand and shoulder, "you scared me, I heard gunshots and-" He chuckled, "I'm fine okay, I did get hurt you can see that but I'm okay... Not to sure about Alex though. you scared the crap out of him and he's been here for days" He chuckles lightly, "wait days?" I say stunned, "right you just woke up, you've been here for almost a week" He says, "wow, he's been here the whole time?" He nods, "he hasn't slept has he?" I ask he nods no.

"Knock knock"

"Ah he returns" I say to Alex as he stands there, "where'd you get off to then?" Kade asked, "well it took some convincing but I bought someone to see you" He says revealing a grey lead, "shadow!" I exclaimed, he lifted my pup up and placed him on the bed next to me, he came up and licked my face as I felt his fur.

"Thank you alex" I say as he comes and sits on the other side of the bed, "I should go I'm getting discharged and my little sister and aunt are waiting for me at home" Kade says standing up and making his way toward the door, "see ya kad" Alex says with a chuckle, he waves goodbye and leaves.

I sit and think for a moment, I remember everything that happened..."Alex I'm so so sorry" I say looking away from him, "what for princess?" He asks with concern,  that word...  princess, gave me butterflies i loved it, my dad used to call me that before he became a drunk after my mum... it just still makes me happy to hear it, "I watched everything, I had zero control, I wanted to stop so bad or turn my rage to Westley, I was so powerless" I say letting a tear slip, I'm tired of crying, he moved his chair closer and wiped the tear from my chin, "it wasn't your fault, he controlled you somehow" He says softly standing up.

He gives me a hug then goes and shuts the door, I look at the clock on the wall and then outside, "it's late you should go home and get some sleep" I say, and shuts the door, "no no, I'm staying and I don't care what you say" I look at him sternly, "you need to sleep, it's been a week" I say concerned, "okay compromise, I'm gonna stay but I promise to get some sleep" He says, we stared at each other for a minute, "fine you can stay" I say giving in, he smiles smugly.

"Skye" Alex says softly, I look at him, "yes Alex" He wanted to say something but I could tell he felt slightly uncomfortable, "what... What happened to you dad? Surely he wasn't this way forever?" He asks cautiously, "it's okay if you don't want to answer, I was just wondering" He quickly says after, I smile lightly, "your right he wasn't always that way... I was about 7 years old when...  When my mum died... my dad didn't know how to cope with it so he turned to drugs and alcohol... He left for about a year so me and my brother stayed with Emma... After he came back Emma left and he started beating me and Lucas, my aunt Linn found out and wanted to take my brother, she did everything in her power to get custody... For a while we moved in with Emma, then we got the news that Lucas had to leave" I let many tears slip down my face as I tell the story, Alex shuffled closer and took my hand, he intertwined our fingers and smiled, "you don't have to go on its okay I understand now, I just have one question?" He says, I nodded and he sighed, "how did... How did your mum die?" His voice was soft as if he were talking to a new born, "car accident... It was the worst thing I ever saw" His eyes widen and I look away, I want him know, I trust him, in fact I think I've fallen for him...

"I was with my brother and he started calling me names that I hated, I got so upset I run out of the house he called me and my dad even ram after me... But when I got to the end of the road I saw some guys car skid into my mums car, my dad ran to me and I fell to the floor crying" He let out a breath and held my hand tighter, "I'm so sorry you had to watch that princess, I really am, I'm sorry I asked I didn't mean to bring up the past... That aside try and get some sleep, and I'll do the same to put your mind at rest" He said smiling at me.

That night I had a nightmare, I watched my mum die again and again and again, "mum!" I yell breaking out of the sequence, Alex rushed to my side in a second, I'm shaking and crying, "hey I got you princess its okay I'm here" He wraps his arms around me and shushes me, he moves me over and lays next to me with his arms still around me.

I'm falling for this boy...  I'm kinda crazy about him..
