the mute and the bad boy

chapter 9

A/n
Hey everyone I'm so sorry for the wait, I've been having problems with my phone and it's been a mess but here's the chapter (Halloween involved) xxx

Today is the day I have to face Alex, not for long though. I sigh and make my way down stairs and into the kitchen to grab my usal apple, then it hit me right as I go to take a bite, I don't have anything for the puppy, which means I have to go to a pet store somewhere, fun, even longer with him.

I snap out of my thoughts and leave my house everywhere people are putting up Halloween decorations, I smile lightly and pull my white and red varsity jacket closed to keep out the breeze and make my way to his house.

I knock on the door and is mum hurriedly let me inside for a moment, she was packing? That's right she's going away for a while, "skye!" I snap my head round to see noelle running towards me, "hey sweetie!" I say as she jumps into my arms, I don't care if this family hears me talk they've been so nice to me, well accept Alex, "ready to go?" He asks walking down the stairs, I nodded and pulled away from noelle, "I've got to go but I'll see you real soon okay?" I smile and she nods.

We exit the house quickly and get in his car, we both buckle up and he starts driving, he goes to hand me the AUX cord but I push it away so he plugs it into his phone instead, he plays music and I just stare out the window for the hour long journey.

As we neared the place I started to get excited and I almost forgot I was in alex's car. we arrived and the second he parked I jumped out the car and ran inside, I was buzzing with joy as I wait for alex to join me.

A few minutes later we were sat outside the kennel sighing papers and stuff, "well they are officially yours, go on" the lady says pushing us lightly in to get them, I picked up the one I wanted and admired him for a minute, I payed little attention to Alex but I did see him at his happiest when he was playing with his dog.

We made our way back to the car and we buckled up again ready for the journey to the pet store which is an hour in the opposite direction to home, I sat him on my lap and just stared at him with a huge smile trying to figure out a name for him.

It's been 30 minutes now and I still can't think properly, I can't belive I have my very own puppy, "blaze" alex blurts out, "sorry was just thinking of his name" I smiled slightly and looked back at my own puppy who was sitting up looking out the window, "shadow" I say, I see alex nod and smile again.

When we arrived at the store I picked up shadow and made my way in, I went to pick out some food for him then we walked over to the beds I set 2 beds down on the floor and let him choose. I picked up the chosen bed and we went to get leads, toys and treats.

I pay for the stuff and waited for alex to do the same, when we both payed and we're ready we headed back to the car, I got in first then he did.

I reach into the bag in front of me and pull out a blue collar with a bone shaped tag on, it read his name and the home number in case he ever got lost, I didn't really pay attention to anything but him the while ride home.

When we did reach home I hopped out and walked off, "I'll be over at 7am to walk him" I yelled to Alex, he nodded and we both went home.

I got inside and placed shadow oh the carpeted gall floor, while I walked into the kitchen and placed his bowls down, I then made my way past him and up to my room where I placed his bed and one or two toys, and finally into the living to place his toy box and the rest of his toys.

I grabbed my phone from the counter in the kitchen and pull up my camera, I snapped a few photos of him and sent them to wes, 'he's adorable, what's his name?' I watched him walk around and sniff everything he could see, 'shadow, I got him today but his brother belongs to Alex 😒' I replied, I bent down and stroked his fur, he must have liked it cause his tail wagged like crazy, 'I'll come and see him soon xx' I smiled and removed my hand, 'if your free today you can see him xx' he relied instantly with with yes and told me he'd be here in a few minutes.

About 10 minutes of waiting and Westley had arrived, he immediately hugged me and planted a kiss on my cheek, I pulled back and opened the door to the living room to reveal shadow biting on one of his toys, I pull wes into the room and sht the door again.

We spent an hour messing around with shadow and tiring him out, "he's so cute" He exclaims, I smiled happily and placed myself on the sofa, Westley came and sat next to me and placed his arm around me, I pulled a blanket down from the back of the sofa and cuddled up next to him and soon shadow came and slept next to up.

Today was a good day, mostly because of shadow.
