chapter 6

Alex

It's Sunday and I'm lounging around in my room playing video games, a knock can be heard from my door and I yelled for them to come in, seconds later my younger sister noelle enters the room, "will you play with me in my room?" She asks slightly upset, I stand up and pull her inside and peer out the door, from downstairs I heard shouting, "are they fighting again" I ask she nods and a tear falls from her little face, "awe come here muffin" I say and hold my arms out and she runs and hugs me, "come on let's go play" I say before leaving my room with her in my arms.

30 minutes into our little role play game my phone rings, I pause our game and leave the room and look at the caller ID, it was my friend Kade, I slide answer, "what's up? " I say, he huffs and I walk into my room and close the door slightly, "you!" She shouts causing me to pull the phone back a bit, "I don't know her name and I don't care but you need to stop" he yells, now I'm just plain confused, "stop what?" I ask raising my eyebrows even though he couldn't see, "Talking to her, being with her" he says angrily huffing again, "why?" I ask still very confused as this came out of nowhere, "because you've changed Al, like seriously, you have forgotten who you are" I exit my room and check on Noelle, she is coward in a corner with her hands over her ears to drown out the fighting and louder screaming, "change! We don't care how you are with your family, just in public you know we're feared, we're what everyone calls the 'Bad boys' and if you don't change you know what will happen" I sigh and nod to myself, "bu- fine, whatever I have to go" he said a swift goodbye and I walked back into her room.

She ran towards me and I lifted her up and shut the door, "I don't like it when they fight" she says sniffling into my shirt, "I know muffin, hey how about we go to the park?" She livens up and drops down, she grabs her shoes and puts them on, I open the door for her and we walk downstairs the screaming getting louder, I grabbed the keys and picked her up swiftly exiting the house.

I sat on the bench watching Noelle play around and make new friends while I though about what Kade said to me earlier, was he right? I opened my phone to see I had a text from Skye "I can hear shouting from your house is everything okay?" It's never been that loud that she can hear it "yeah don't worry about it" I reply bluntly, she doesn't respond and I continue to watch Noelle play for a few more hours.

Skye

It's now Monday and Lucus got a ride to school with one of his old friends whilst I'm still waiting for Alex.

Moments later I hear a beep and run outside to the car, I hop in the passenger side and smile at him, but he stares dead at the road basically ignoring my presence, "are you okay?" He nods and rolls his eyes as I do my seat belt up,  school was about 15 minutes in the car and it was very awkward, "seriously, Alex what's wrong?" He doesn't answer for a second, "nothing!" He practically shouts, "Alex, why are you acting like this?" He ignores me and looks dead on with cold eyes, I soon get very frustrated at his actions I hate it when I'm treated like this, "stop the car" I say, she looks at me confused, "stop the car!" I shout he pulls over and I undo my belt, "where are you going get back in the car" he yells and I run in the opposite direction to which the car was facing.

I kept running until I found myself standing at the bottom of my tree house, I climbed the ladder and sat in the small corner of pillows, a few minuets later I hear the same familiar voice calling me, "go away" I yell in annoyance, but all I heard is the ladder being climbed on, he stops at the top and looks at me emotionless, "what are you doing we are going to be late?" He says flatly, I roll my eyes and turn slightly, "fuck off" I say before closing the small wood door, I hear him grunt and drop down.

I sat in that house all day, I didn't bother with school, Emma won't care, she knows I'm a straight A student so it doesn't matter. After sometime I heard footsteps from outside, and then on the ladder, "are you in there Skye?" I heard from the outside, I shuffle are bit and sit up and the door flies open, I pull my knees up to my chest and he sighs, "I came to give you this" he said dully handing me a piece of paper with homework written in bold, he dropped it and left without telling me what's going on.

Later that night I arrived at home and it seemed like Lucus and Emma wanted to talk to me, I walked into the living room to Em first, "I'm going away for two weeks tomorrow so you'll have the house to yourself" she says, I nod and walk upstairs to Lucus next, "Emma is leaving for a few weeks so I'm spending a week at a friends cool?" He asks I nod and smile walking back to my own room.

I'm shattered even though I didn't do anything, I peeled of my clothes and changed into something comfier, I crawled into bed and and cuddled underneath the sheets and soon sleep took over and I fell into a nice deep sleep.
