"Now nothin' can take you away from me." Bryan Adams - Heaven (1985)
______
My eyes narrowed when it hit the sunlight right through my eyes. I'm still wearing my Van Halen clothes, feeling as sticky as always before taking a bath in the morning. I woke up from my sleeping position and took a look at the door. It was closed tightly. I didn't even know how did I got asleep on that bedroom, I forgot too much after tonight.
"I'm wide awake," I told myself, rubbing my eyes.
Stepping on the cold ground, I quicken my pace and opened the big wooden door. "Steve?" I called to hear no responses. My hand stroke the wooden banister and my pace was exploring the stairs. It was a big house, I could tell.
Yeah!
Last night, I got a bit drunk.
First of all, Steve got those beer, wine, alcohol and stuff. I tried it since I've never and then I forgot the rest of the night. The last think I remembered was the time when I got to the bedroom. Yes!
"Emily?"
The voice hit me from my thoughts and I saw Steve there sitting in front of the television watching some concert. "Steve? Why are you up so early?"
He giggled. "Early? I thought you woke up lately, it's almost school, take a bath." He stood up, getting me a towel. "You know the bathroom, right?"
I shook my head no, earning a groan from Steve. "Come on, you frequently went to the bathroom loads of times because of the alcohol."
"Am I that drunk?" I asked, feeling a little bit embarrassed.
He took a look at the ground, then back at me throwing a grin. "Yes you are." He looked at me nervously earning two raised eyebrows from me. "Did you remember any of last night?"
"No, only the... uh, you know. I don't." I shook my head, earning a sigh from Steve.
"That's great then, now go get a bath." He turned my body back and pushed me to the bathroom. "If you need anything just ask me, I'll be in the living room." He told me before rushing out quickly. I know he's hiding something from last night, but I should ignore it. He wouldn't answer me anyway.
I looked at the bathroom to see a pair of girl clothes and a note.
"Here are some clothes for you, maybe it fits you since it's my mom's old clothes."
I giggled, he wrote me a note just so I wear these clothes. I grabbed the clothes and saw a short floral dress and a denim jacket. If I could meet his mom, I would. Her style is just that oldies.
I took off my clothes and slipped my feet to the shower box, closing it behind me and rubbed some soap to my body. The smell of the green apple rush through my body as I rubbed the green tea shampoo on my short hair. I opened the shower door and dried my body, my hair. I ruffled my wet hair and slipped my underwear, wearing the dress and the denim jacket.
I clicked the door open and rush out to Steve. "Steve! Come on, we're going to school." I took his hand as I could see he jumped in response. I laughed.
"Emily! It's not funny!" He snapped, giving me the pouty face.
"Aw, you're mad. Come on, don't be. Let's just go to school, okay." I giggled more, taking his hand with me. He's already wearing his usual clothes, but matches the denim jacket he's giving me.
_____
"Emily, please tell me where have you been. I picked you up but you weren't home."
I keep on biting my bottom lip. "Kale, I'm so sorry. I went to Steve house and well, I overslept."
"What? Steve?" He looked at me in shock. "What did you do with him? You cheated on me, did you?"
"Kale, if I cheated on you, I wouldn't tell you, would I?" I snapped.
"Okay, I just love you so much I didn't want to lose you to anyone." He gave me a peck on the lips.
I smiled at the kiss, I kind of miss this feelings so bad. "You're sappy." I give him the peck on the cheek. "But you're mine."
Ryder approached us, staring at us angrily. I remembered one thing, this is the same class that I, Kale and Ryder went to. Oh goddamn I have to meet him again. "What do you want?" Kale snapped, glaring back at Ryder.
"Sitting next to some freaks here." He sat right next to me, staring at us with an unreadable expression.
I gave Kale my expression. "Can you get this bastard away from me, Kale?"
"I don't know how to!" He replied through his emotion.
I sighed. "Hey, Ryder." I decided to fake a smile at him, glaring at him in the eyes.
"Nice hair, lunatic." He told me, not bothering to look at me.
I stayed silent, imagining if I punch him right in the face.
Bam!
"Ms. Emily Harrison! Go to my office, now!" The last words I could hear before the teacher stopped Kale from following me. I didn't even know why I did that.
_____
"Yes," I said, still looking down, playing with my nails.
"You got detention this Saturday." She declared in an anger tone.
"What? You can't! I got a family things on Saturday!" I keep on babbling, hoping she could cancel that.
"Cancel everything you have, are you done talking to me, Ms. Harrison?" She told me as I accidentally turned quiet and ran out of the room.
I sighed, now I couldn't visit Amber tomorrow. Why should my hand punch that bastard? I know he deserve it, but I didn't deserve detention.
"So, detention tomorrow?" Steve quickly followed my pace, making me stop.
I moaned. "Why do I have to get detention?"
"Because you punched Ryder, which I'm glad you did that. But not about the detention."
I stared at him in shock. "How do you know I punched him?"
"It's everywhere, girl. Anyway, your prince, Kale is waiting for you. He told me we could have some lunch just the three of us but since I got stuff to do, I canceled."
"He asked you?" I stared at him happily. "You should come, it'll be fun!"
"Um, I don't know."
I pulled his hand. "Come on!"
