2 weeks later...

"Alright class now for announcements, your first big assignment of the year!" The teacher said.

The class groans.

"I'm sure you guys won't be groaning when you find out that each category has prizes?" He grinned.

The mood of the class instantly shifted as whoops and hollers could be heard.

He put his hands up, "Alright now class settle down, this year I want each of you, having the option to work in groups or alone, to write, direct, and produce a film for the Busan International Film Festival that is held each year in, obviously Busan."

While the rest of the class was listening to the teacher's further instructions I took out my journal and started jotting down some ideas.

1. Music video
3. Short film
4. Animation
5. Drama
6. Porno

I quickly scratched out the last one as I giggled to myself.

"Ah, Miss. Chilombo I see you've already started." A voice says startling me out of my thoughts.

I looked up at my teacher, "Uh I'm sorry I just-"

He raises his hand silencing me, "No need for apologies."

He walked back up to the front very slowly, "As a matter of fact class, I think Miss. Chilombo has given me a brilliant idea."

I froze pleading silently that I would not be embarrassed.

"As an artist, you have to learn to look outside the box and sometimes do things you're not comfortable with, adjusting is very important in this industry, sometimes your client will give you crazy ideas to work with or things that may not make sense to you but it doesn't need to-" He paused letting each of us take the information even, some kids even took notes.

I inhaled deeply, holding my breath as I anticipated his next words.

"With that being said I'm putting a new twist on this year's assignment, you will not get to choose your video genre." He grinned.

The class erupted with complaints.

"Aw come on teacher-nim that isn't fair!"

"Dang I really wanted to do a music video!"

" But I planned my whole video already!"

The teacher clapped his hands shutting everyone up.

"Class like I explained earlier, in this industry, if you want to make it you have to understand that your not always going to get to do what you want to do, this project will teach you discipline and creativity I promise you."

The class seemed to simmer down after that but I still caught a couple of students glaring at me.

Out of nowhere a piece of crumpled up paper hit my head.

I turned quickly glaring only to find everyone around me staring at the front like they ain't seen nothing.

Alright you little shits.

"So class here is how we will do this, I will bring a cup tomorrow filled with popsicle sticks that have different genres written on them and you will pick one randomly, any questions?"

Nobody said a word.

"Okay well, then class dismissed, have a great rest of your day and I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled.

The class filed out and I trudged slowly behind them when the teacher suddenly calls my name.

"Ah, KJ I'd like you to stay behind for a bit."
