I opened my eyes to see Christine laying on my chest and breathing so peacefully. I smiled and slowly rose from the bed to pull on my jeans. Then I went into the kitchen to make coffee for Christine and I until I heard the little pitter patter of feet against the hardwood floor. I froze when I saw my baby girl looking at me up and down. She had Christine's nose and her small hands, along with her lips. She climbed on the stool and I asked, "Do you want any breakfast, Claude?" She rubbed her eyes and nodded. I grabbed a bowl and some corn flakes out of the cabinet song with the milk and a spoon. I made her a bowl and say down in front of her. I looked at her doll and saw that there was something white hanging out of its pants and I asked, "What's that Claude?" She swallowed a mouthful of cereal and took out the picture and gave it to me. I unfolded it and my heart jumped in my throat when I saw what our was of. It was of Christine and I in France holding one another and kissing. It was the last picture we took before I ran off. "That's my mommy and daddy before I was born." I looked at my daughter and she was wiping her mouth. "Come with me. I have other pictures of my mommy and daddy." I followed her and we went to her room. Claudia sat on the floor and took my hand and pulled me down to sit by her. She pulled a binder out from under her bed and opened it. "This is a binder of my family. It has pictures of my daddy, my mommy, and her daddy. She opened it and I saw a baby picture with the last name Collins on it the bed it was laying in. "That's me I was born. Mommy said that I was pretty baby." I looked at it a little while longer before she turned the page. I saw a picture of Christine sitting on my lap and I was holding her from behind. "That's my daddy. Mommy said that she loved him a lot and still loved him when he left." My heart warmed. She still loved me? Then I saw the picture. The last picture I took with Christine before I left. It was of Christine and I kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower in France. I smiled at the memory and Claudia stood up and looked at me. "Are you my daddy?" I looked at her and saw that she had the same birth mark that I had on my eyebrow. I pointed to it. "I think so, Claudia." She hugged my neck. "Don't leave us again, Daddy. Mommy was sad when you left." I hugged her back. "I promise, baby. I promise."
