Chapter 8: The legacy

Shanel POV

We finally made it to where everyone was. Right as we got there Sakura ran towards Gaara who was laying on the ground lifeless. I started to feel sadness.

"Sakura please hurry!" Naruto begged her. Leslie who also went to help, helped Sakura anyway she could.

Around us many of the sand village Shinobi circled around. But Gaara wasn't looking to good.

Sakura eyes widened and shook her head. Leslie was looking down, Kakashi-Sensei closing his eyes. I  looked at the lifeless body. He can't be dead.

I looked at Temari who looked disappointed and sad. I closed my eyes.

"There's one way we can save him." I opened my eyes and looked at Chiyo-ba who stood next to me.

"Really! Anything please." Naruto begged Chiyo-ba. what could possibly bring back someone from the dead?

I looked at Leslie and Sakura who were looking down. Chiyo-ba kneeled by Gaara and started using her chakra. This isn't medical ninjutsu? Some time passed. Everyone was dead silent.

"I-I don't have enough..." Chiyo-ba whispered. I frowned at her words. I wanted to help in some way. I didn't want the Kazekage, no Gaara, someone who was so kind and welcoming to us, to me, to die. I walked over to her and kneeled down and place my hands on top of hers.

"I don't have much but I hope that I can be of help." I whispered. Just as she was going to begin, Naruto also joined in and placed his hand on top as well. I looked over towards Leslie who was crying. Sakura was crying as well.

Chiyo-ba continued. Gaara please come back!

"This should work." Chiyo-ba took her hands away. We looked down at Gaara. Suddenly he opened his eyes and sat up. Naruto placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Gaara!" He smiled. I felt a smile creep up on my face. I placed a hand on Gaara's other shoulder.

"You're okay now." I said to him. He paused and looked at the two of us with wide eyes. He then looked around to see everyone that was surrounding him.

"They all game rushing to come save to!" Naruto said happily. I felt relieved.

"For me..." Gaara was somewhat speechless.

"Chiyo-ba!" Sakura was crying kneeling by her along with Leslie. My eyes became wide. She told Naruto to come closer to her.

"I was wrong about the leaf. All of you, especially you will bring change to this world." She smiled and closed her eyes.

"Sakura...What's happening?" I questioned stumbling on my words. Kakashi-sensei came by side.

"The jutsu She was using was not medical ninjutsu. It's a special type of ninjutsu which gives a life for a life." He closed his eyes and looked down at the ground. I felt myself become cold.

"Let is have a moment of silent for Chiyo-ba and her heroics and sacrifice." Gaara ordered, and we closed our eyes. I heard Leslie and Sakura sobbing as well as a few hidden sand shinobi. I felt myself shaking.

~~~a few hours later~~~

We were headed back to the sand village carrying Chiyo-ba back to be buried. As we approached closer and closer to the village we saw the entire village waiting for our return. There was cheering.

"Are they all waiting for me?" Gaara paused looking surprised. I smiled at him and nodded my head. The village opened a walkway for all of us to walk through. Before we entered, Gaara stopped.
