"Ha! Dayum I knew it!" A boy shouted, slamming his fist on the restaurant table as he glanced up at the television above their booth.
"Shuddap!" Another boy shouted, glaring at his friend before sipping on his strawberry lemonade.
"BROOKLYN SUCKAS! What what? Brooklyn baby!" He cheered, laughing.
"Caesar, yo ass ain't fun to be around." The boy said, massaging the back of his neck where his cornrows lay.
"Oh please Riley, you know I'm hella fun to be around." Caesar countered, throwing an icecube at him.
"If y'all two niggas don't stop dis shit we 'gon be kicked out ta resteraunt!" A girl warned them, her icy blue eyes staring deep into theirs sending chills down their spines.
"But, C-Murph, Caesar started it!" Riley pouted, crossing his arms.
Caesar rolled his eyes. "Riiight, always gotta blame the Jamaican."
"Ion care who started it! Y'all irritating the fuck outta Jazzy!" Cindy growled, pointing at her best friend who was fiddling with her straw.
"Oh shit, I done forgot she was even here! Since she all quiet n shit." Riley said.
Caesar elbowed him. "Wrong set of words dumbass."
Jazmine looked up at the two boys, you couldn't tell if she was sad or angry, her facial expression was bland.
"I mean it's true! She stay bein all silent we gonna keep on forgettin she's present. Until ta point where we forget she even exists!" Riley shouted, earning gasps from the neighboring tables.
"Ta fuck y'all looking at? Mind yo business!" He shouted, quickly they turned their heads and went on with their meals.
Cindy looked at her best friend, watching her get up and leave. She glared at Riley hatefully. "Way to go Reezy, you made her leave!"
"Ey man, it ain't my fault she a mute." He took a deep breath and sighed. "Man, I wish there was somethin we could do."
"Maybe not yell in her face about her being quiet? You know why she ain't talkin Reezy and you just made it worse!" Cindy huffed.
Riley rubbed the back of his neck slowly. "You right.."
"After we eat you go apologize to her man." Caesar added.

Jazmine traveled the miles by foot to the hospital her father was in. When she stepped inside the lady from the desk knew her by name. "Hello Miss DuBois. Are you here to see your father?"Jazmine nodded slowly.
The lady sighed, examining Jazmine before coming to a conclusion. "Honey have you not been getting sleep? There's bags under your eyes darling."
Jazmine shrugged her shoulders.
"Tonight you get some sleep honey, alright? You know where his room is babygirl."
Jazmine nodded and made her way to the elevators. There she bumped into a man, when she looked up she examined him. Tall, dark skin, brown eyes, and dreads. "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you."
Jazmine shrugged.
"Hey..you're Tom DuBois' daughter right?" He asked.
Jazmine nodded.
"Oh, I'm Derek. Your father locked up my father after he was caught doing drugs at the park a month ago. I'm here to go see him, he was brought in because he was complaining about major headaches, and very high fevers." Derek explained.
