"I can't just..go back to being a mute," Jazmine said, her face softening with sadness.

"Aw, you can't? Shame. We're just gonna have to this the hard way then now aren't we?" he smirked, leaning forward until his lips barley touched her ear, "If you don't go back to being the silent little girl you were, I'll make sure your life becomes a living hell. Do you want to know how?"

"How," Jazmine said in frustration.

"You'll be taken out of Woodcrest, away from your mean mean little boyfriend, and the remainder of your friends and family,"

"Don't waste your breath Shadow," Jazmine started.

"Why you little bit-"

"I'm deciding to go with you willingly,"

"Huh?"

"I said i'll go with you willingly. Not for Huey's sake. But because I want out of Woodcrest, out of Maryland as a whole. Nothing but darkness has occurred all my time of being here, there's nothing here for me anymore," Jazmine said, thinking about her friends. Riley. Cindy. She took a deep breath before continuing. "There's only 2 people here for me now, that care about my safety and that's Cindy and Riley,"

"What about Huey?" Shadow asked with a devious grin, her answers were providing him with satisfaction.

"He doesn't care about me," Jazmine said with pain. "I don't think he ever did,"

"Then princess, we shall leave Woodcrest,"

"When?"

"Tomorrow,"

"So, I'm just gonna stay here until tomorrow?"

"Well, I'll let you contact your friends one final time,"

Jazmine's eyes lit up, "Seriously?"

"I'm not that evil," Shadow smirked, looking at the mulatto before turning his head and whispering quietly.

"Not yet, at least,"

"Huey," Riley said over the phone with his brother.

"What Riley,"

"You need to think about this man, you really willing to risk your life for Jazmine?"

"Are you willing to risk your life for Cindy?" Huey said irritatedly, pulling the reverse card.

"Fuck you man, listen up. This shit y'all in, it's dangerous my nigga. Like, think about it man you could die!"

"You're just like Mom and Dad," Huey grumbled under his breath,

"What about Ma and Pop?"

Huey sighed. "I saw them,"

"..."

"Riley,"

"..."

"Riley!"

"Fuck you mean you saw them?" Riley snapped.

"When I was walking away, I saw them. They told me I shouldn't do it, but I have to-"

"No, you don't man. You don't fucking need to do this, shit I love Jazmine don't get me wrong. I'd do anything to make sure that she's safe and sound believe dat, but this is dangerous!"

"I'll be sure to tell Jazmine that when I go rescue her,"

"Huey! Nigga if you-"

Click.

"Game on, Shadow,"

///

"Nigga really hung up on me," Riley grumbled, running a finger through his cornrows until he saw a familiar number appear on his screen.

Jazzy🤞🏽
"Jazzy, where the fuck you at!? Huey bout' to lose his shit tryna find you, where the fuck you at so we can come get you?"

"Riley, don't bother finding me. And tell Huey to not to worry about finding me,"

"Jazzy, that's bullshit. You think he gon' listen to me?" Riley said with slight agitation.

"Make him listen, I'm not coming back to Woodcrest Riley, I'm leaving. With Shadow, and I'm going to be his successor so I can learn to be an agent, just like him."

"Jazmine mutha fuckin DuBois do you hear yourself right now? You sound insane! Is Shadow making you say this?"

Jazmine you stupid damn girl. Riley thought to himself as his mind processed her words.

"No Riley, I'm going willingly. Tell Cindy I love her and to not stress herself out about it, and the same goes for you too Riley,"

"..."

"Riley, believe me when I say I love you, you mean everything to me. Thank you for taking care of me when Derek was abusing me, Goodbye."

"Jazmine!"

Click.

Riley held onto his phone, his chest aching. Then he dialed for Huey.

"Hello?"

"Let's go find Jazzy nigga."

///

"Thank you Shadow," Jazmine said slowly, looking up at the man.

"No, thank you Jazmine, you're doing me a big favor by becoming my successor. We'll get along just fine." Shadow smirked, devious plans running across his mind.

Jazmine nodded, little did Shadow know. She had a plan, in her head she thought it was a good plan, she would trick Shadow into thinking she was gonna be his successor and then betray him, and try to kill him herself.

"Now get some sleep Jazmine. We have a big day tomorrow," Shadow said, leaving the girl by herself in the dimly lit room.
