"SANS! YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPE-"

Papyrus instantly stopped speaking when he opened the front door to find the house empty. Upon further inspection, he saw that Sans' keys were not on their usual hook next to the door; meaning he must've gone somewhere.

"Huh...that's odd...where could he have gone?" Papyrus questioned out loud as he hung up his coat, his eye glowing a faint orange as his fully written out job application levitated into his room for safekeeping.

With a stretch, he walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water; an eyebrow soon raised when he saw a note left on the table.

'Dear Papy,

Don't worry, I'm still relaxing like you said I should. I just felt a little bit cooped up in the house and thought a walk might clear my head. I decided to visit the Underground again in case we left anything at the old house. I should be home in time for dinner but if you want to check up on me I'll have my phone on. I'll be back soon! Hope the job hunt went well!

~Sans'

Papyrus let out a sigh of relief after reading the note.

'At least he left a note this time...' he thought to himself.

'Good to know he's begun to learn his lesson after so many nights of sneaking out. Though where to, I haven't the foggiest...' he continued as he poured water into a glass.

As Papyrus sat down at the table and took a sip, his mind couldn't help but wander back to the conversation he and Sans had the night before. He hadn't seen his brother so tense in awhile. It was as if Sans felt they were being watched in some way. That much was obvious, since he didn't look any calmer even after he "vented" to him. Papyrus knew perfectly well that Sans was still hiding something. It would be even more out of character of him if he DID tell Papyrus everything the first time around. Now did this mean that Papyrus was upset with Sans? Of course not! Far from it! Everyone had their secrets and Papyrus was no different. Why would he go around hating Sans' secrecy if his brother never did that to him?

Even so...Papyrus couldn't help but stress a bit over the situation. Something was going on behind the scenes. Something Sans was too scared to tell him. That fact was both worrying and frustrating. His brother has always been able to stay strong in the face of potential threats. He was the Royal Judge after all. If something was driving Sans to depression, fear, and uncontrollable anger...then something was coming. What? Papyrus didn't know if he'd ever know. Not if this went on the way it has. And that was making him more and more aggravated.

Papyrus sighed.

'God damn it Sans...why must you make this so difficult...?' he thought to himself, his grip on his water glass tightening ever so slightly.

The more Papyrus thought, the louder his thoughts became, to the point he was practically screaming inside his head. His original calm outlook on the situation was beginning to blend with negativity and frustration; drowning out any good feelings he had finally managed to get that day.

'Sans...you know that I'm not an idiot. None of us are. Why must you put us through such torturous worry for you everyday? It's hurting all of us so much and it's tearing you apart! You don't need to be alone anymore! WHY DON'T YOU TRUST ME?! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DO THIS?! DO YOU REALLY THINK I'M THAT STUPID?! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ANY DANGER ALONE! NOT ANYMORE! I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS YOU WELL ENOUGH AND IS STRONG ENOUGH! I CAN HELP YOU! WHY WON'T YOU LET ME?! I'M NOT THAT FUCKING CARELESS IDIOT ANYMORE! YOU CAN TRUST ME! WHY WON'T YOU TRUST ME?! WHY?! WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF?! YOU CAN'T DO THIS FOREVER! UGH! YOU'RE GOING TO DRIVE ME TO INSANITY THIS WAY! AFTER EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN THROUGH YOU STILL DON'T THINK I'M MATURE ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND?! WELL NEWS FLASH BROTHER! I'VE SEEN AND DONE MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOW! IF YOU THINK THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAN YOU REALLY ARE AN IDIOT YOU GODDAMN SON OF A-'
