I woke up and Lily was curled up next to me. I lifted the blanket over her shoulder. She was sound asleep. I looked at my wrist, my wound was still open. I check to see if I was still solid, I was. I found Lily's sew kit she used to adjust her clothes. I sew up the open wound and waited in her room for her to wake up. She got up around elven, a half hour after me.
"Good morning," I said to her quietly, "Sleep well?"
"Yeah," Lily stretched, "Did you wait long?"
"Not at all," I got up and rolled the chair to Lily, "You still sleepy?"
"No," Lil said, "Let's go downstairs."
Lily brushed her teeth and hair. We went down and I watched Lily eat her breakfast. Though the smell of her omelet made my mouth water, I miss eating but it would just to to waist if I ate it. We watched cartoons for most of the day. Aura came home around two. She had a painting job down town today.
"Hey guys," Aura Dropped off her paints by the door, "Did anyone call?"
"No," Lily said, "Should someone have?"
"Mom texted me this morning," Aura sat down, "She'll be home tonight. Her business trip in Australia is finally over. No more only Mom on holidays. It's a surprise so don't tell Dad."
"Awesome!" Lily was so excited, "I wait to see mom again. Maxie you can meet her too know that you're Solid."
"You're solid?" Aura asked, "Did you guys figure something out?"
"It sort of just happened," I said, "On moment I was in the bath and I was soaked. Water's never been able to touch me before."
"Weird, mom's pretty knowledgable in this stuff so she might know what's going on," Aura got up, "In the mean time you're gonna need something to wear other than that open button up tee. I have some old clothes that might fit. Come one let's go. Dad'll be home in a few hours."
That's a long time just to get dressed, I thought.
Around six-thirty Lily's Dad came home. Aura had me in a small, lose, black dress. I wasn't wearing shoes but no one seemed to care.
"Lily who's this?" Her dad asked.
"This Maxie," Lily said, "She's the ghost who's been staying with us for the past two months."
"Right the girl-friend," He said, "What do you three want for dinner?"
"Um... could we have sushi delivered?" Aura asked, "It was always mom's favorite."
"Sure," He sighed, "You miss her?"
"Of course," Aura replied, "Let's get mom's favorite Love roll."
"And Miso soup," Lily added.
"What do you want?" He looked at me.
"Oh um..." I had to think of something, "J-just something small. I don't eat much."
"Alright," He started a phone order and Lily had me help her upstairs to get ready. Everyone but their dad was dressed nicely, "What's with the fancy outfits? Now I feel out of place. What are you hiding?"
"Nothing," Lily said, "We do have an important guest though."
"Dinner will be here in five minutes or so," He said.
Ding. The door bell rang.
"Or maybe now?" He want to open the door and practically fainted, "H-h- honey y-you're home!" He was stuttering so much He had to step back and take a knee, "I-I thought it was gonna be another month until the trip ended?"
"I finished everything early," A woman with long blonde hair was in the door way, "Once I get my next pay check I'll quit. I have leaving you all for so long."
"I'm so happy you're home," He said.
"I'm happy to be home as well," She gave him a long kiss, then we helped her with her bags.
"I'm so glad mom's home. It's been so long," Lily's eye's were sparkling more than usual, "She finally gets to meet you Maxie."
They all had dinner and I pretended to eat. I didn't fit in with these conversations at all, I wasn't their daughter and they never knew I existed until now. I eventually managed to sneak away after dinner. I waited alone in Lily's room. I eventually changed out of the dress and into another one of the loose t-shirts Lily left out for me. I felt board and lonely. I wound up falling asleep on Lily's bed.
