"Obi!" Eesla's distressed voice rang through Obi's thoughts as his comm link signaled.

"Eesla! Ees!" he yelled her name repeatedly but to no avail. The signal was long gone.

"Master..." he looked at Master Qui-Gon desperately for guidance.

Master Qui-Gon gave a quickly scanned the ballroom from his position. "The Senator and Eesla are no longer here. Come, we must follow the ship if we are to save her."

They quickly trace their way back to the hangar where they saw a large passenger craft getting ready for take off.

"That must be it!" Obi-Wan exclaimed, immediately giving chase.

"Obi-Wan you won't make it!" Master Qui-Gon warned, trying to stop his Padawan from doing something reckless.

Obi-Wan didn't stop. If anything, he ran faster than ever. I can't give up!

Alas, the ship increased speed and took off into space. Obi-Wan stopped and cursed as he saw the ship made the jump into hyperspace. He had failed Eesla. It would take ages before they would be able to track the ship's location.

Just then, Obi-Wan heard footsteps and turned instinctively. Master Qui-Gon had finally caught up with him.

"Now that you've finally stopped, would you care to listen to what I have to say?" he asked.

Obi-Wan nodded silently, eyes never leaving the spot where the ship left.

Master Qui-Gon shook his head. "Come, we must return to the Temple and report to the Council."

Obi-Wan took one last look at the hangar before hurrying after his Master.

Eesla lay on the floor, half conscious. She had awaken to find herself in a small room, but she barely remembered how she ended up there. All she could recall was being stunned in the ballroom, and everything blacked out after that.

She stirred slowly, and found her wrists and ankles bound. As she struggled, she heard footsteps enter the room.

"Get up." Eesla heard a man's voice, hard like steel. Eesla stilled, deliberating whether to answer.

"I SAID UP!" the man yelled as he aimed a kick at her abdomen.

Eesla coughed up blood and heaved in agony. She looked up and saw Senator Caius. He had changed out of his formal suit, and was dressed in what Eesla would describe as fitting for the monster he was. He wore a red cloak that billowed as he strode, and a military dress that was a shade so red it resembled blood. She imagined that it was stained red with the blood of his enemies.

"Now that's not a way to treat a lady..." she grunted through her teeth. She attempted to sit up but doubled over in pain.

He lifted her head up with a jerk. "We wouldn't want to destroy that pretty little face now, don't we? Hmmm." He smiled as he said, each word dripping with venom. His thumb slowly caressed her cheek as he gave a sadistic smile.

Eesla jerked her head away, glaring daggers at him in disgust.

He merely chuckled at her action. "Aren't you a fiesty little one? I like you."

"Let. Me. Go." Eesla growled.

"And let you go tattle to those Jedi friends of yours? I think not."

"Then kill me." she seethed. She had made up her mind. She would rather die than play into the hands of this rogue, die than to become a liability to the Council.
