Imagine #12 stefan

You have to be the one to turn his humanity back on but he doesn't know your alive

Things were bad. Very bad. A few years ago you were engaged to Stefan Salvatore, but a lot of people hated he was happy and tried to ruin that. You didn't want him to be worried about you all the time so you and Damon came up with a plan that you'd fake your death. Crazy right?

It was the only option you had for him to be happy, and he didn't take it well at all. Only thing that was keeping him with his humanity was the thought of you and you not wanting him to do it. But lately something horrific has happened, and he couldn't deal with it anymore.

You and Damon kept in touch often, and he recently told you that Stefan lost one of his good friends. You didn't know who he was but you knew Stefan needed you. This made things more complicated and it would change everything but you had to do this.

You got a plane from France to America and drove to mystic falls. You had to move somewhere that was far away so that Stefan didn't find you. You couldn't have been more nervous, you had changed quite a bit what if he didn't realise it was you? That's ridiculous, he still loves me right?

You arrived at the Salvatore boarding house, and you heard the screams already. Your heart dropped, your precious fiancé was in there taking people's lives. Damon must have heard you, he opened the door for you and pulled you in for the biggest hug you've ever felt. You looked into his worried and sad eyes.

"Where is he?" You croaked as you saw all the blood behind him. He moved his head signalling you to come in and he took your hand and took you to the cellar. But while you were walking down the stairs Damon stopped in his tracks and turned to see you.

" I have missed you Y/N and so has everyone else" he smiled. You were so close to everyone and it broke you knowing that you would never see them again but here we are.

"How's everyone doing?" You asked. He looked to his feet and looked up again as if something was wrong. " Elena, Caroline and Bonnie took it very bad, turned off their humanity and Bonnie wouldn't stop looking for spells to find you again, took 2 and a half years to get them the closest they could go to being themselves" Damon sighed.
You held back the tears, you missed your best friends so much.

"Jeremy left, Tyler left and Matt was never the same". You couldn't help but let out a soft cry, and he took you in again for another hug.

"But in my years of being on this earth I have never seen Stefan in such a state, he was lost without you and still is" he said truthfully. That made you smile but sad at the same time. "He talks about you every day, and looks at the photo album he made for you two after your 'death'".

All you could do is nod, you were so shocked that this was actually happening. "You ready?" He softly said.
You smiled and nodded again, as he unlocked the cellar door and you saw him.

There he was. Looking so awful that you couldn't recognise him. He had dark circles under his eyes, he'd lost weight, and dried blood over his mouth.

"Damon, for the love of god get out of here! I don't want to see you or anyone else you all are to boring" he said in pain. You could tell he was feeling the hunger.

"It's not me that wants to talk to you buddy" Damon tutted and walked out closing the cellar door behind him.

He looked up and your eyes and had met for the first time in 3 years. "What kind of sick hallucination is this? " he gritted through his teeth. You walked towards him and put your hand on his shoulder. "It's me Stefan, and I'll explain everything but please turn it back on" you pleaded.

"Wow, so Damon got Bonnie to do a spell so I can see my dead fiancé, clever" he winked. You furrowed your eyebrows.

"No Stefan it's me, feel me I promise I'm here" you held out your hand. After a few seconds, he gently placed his palm in yours. He let out a massive gasp and collapsed in your arms. He sobbed and sobbed until your top seemed like it had been dropped in the ocean.

"How's all this possible? How are you here?" He cried while cupping your face. You were crying and you didn't even notice!

"I promise Stefan I'll explain everything but please just hold me" you cried hugging him tighter and tighter. He pulled away. "Of course but first" he stopped mid sentence and kissed you.

It was like someone has set a firework off inside you, or let out a cage of butterflies. It was the most passionate kiss you had ever felt before. You pulled away after what seemed to be 10 years.

"So will you still marry me?" He let out a small chuckle. You laughed with him.

"Of course"
