You're dead and he sees someone that looks like you

Stefan- He never stopped loving you. It was kind of getting out of hand. Yes everyone loved you and your death was truly tragic but when Stefan hadn't left the house in almost 2 years, it was traumatic. "Stefan...we miss her too but come on" Damon whispered placing his hand on his brothers shoulder.

"There is no life without Y/N Damon don't you understand? I was going to propose until they ripped her heart out like it was nothing!" He shouted, loosing his temper. Damon went to reply before getting interrupted. "What if it was Elena?" Stefan asked. Proving his point, Damon shut up. After hours of convincing him to get a drink with the gang at the grill, he decided to go.

Walking in, Caroline, Elena and Bonnie immediately gave him a hug before sitting him down with Enzo, Matt, Tyler, Jeremy and of course Damon. A waitress came over and asked you what you guys would like to have. Everyone went to reply before getting startled to see the waitress looked exactly like you.

Stefan couldn't stop staring. "I'm sorry is there a problem?" The waitress asked, worried. "No, no! Of course not you just look like someone we know" Matt smiled. "Someone we USED to know" Stefan glared at him before storming out. "Wait Stefan!! Before you go anywhere I just wanted to give you this" Elena pulled out a note from her handbag and gently placed it in Stefans palm, giving him a warm smile. He opened it. 'Next time hide the ring better babe! It's stunning...my answer is yes'. After than he broke down and speeded out, not caring who saw.

The group put the heads down unsure what to do as they all felt incredibly emotional at how much she looked like you and brought back memories so they all just stood up and left without saying a word.

Damon- 10 years later and he still had his humanity off. Every day was killing more than 100 people just because it was 'fun'. He knew that turning it on will overpower all of the killings with the feelings of you and your death. He thought about you every day but would never admit it to anyone, not even Stefan.

One particular night, he was on his usual killing spree somewhere different . He saw a innocent girl walking from the behind and violently pulled her back by the hair and turned her to face Damon before he got the shock of his life. She looked like your twin but he knew that was impossible. "Please don't hurt me" she cried. It broke his heart...she sounded just like you too. He remained silent for a few minuets just looking at her. "I won't but will you just let me do one thing" he whispered. He looked deep into her eyes. "Say I love you, Damon" he compelled. "I love you, Damon" she repeated back in your soft, soothing voice. He gulped and the tears spilled out his eyes. He just needed to hear it one more time.

"You will forget this ever happened, you won't remember me and you will live a long happy life" he compelled once more before speeding away while his emotions flooded. Even when you weren't there, you brought back his humanity.
