Apeksha's P. O. V.

The alarm clock started to vibrate or I was too sleepy to realize that it was blaring at twelve in the night. In dead silence I crept into Zeeshan's room to wake him up.

" Wake up sleeping beauty."

"Umn.......... "

He groaned and turned on the other side of his bed. CLEAR SIGNAL - DON'T WAKE ME UP. I rolled my eyes.

" Zeeshan, wake up. Fast. "

" Apeksha are you mad? Why are you......... " he said when finally the realization dawned upon him.

" Dad's birthday. "

Thank god he realized.

" Yes, Sleeping Beauty. Now get up."

He finally got up and we crept silently into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator to take out the cake that we had baked for dad. I had earlier asked mom not to lock the door of their bedroom. Yep! she actually knew about our plan and she was absolutely cool with it.  Mom is a total sweetheart.

Zeeshan and I went into their room and Zeeshan turned on the lights. I had the cake in my hand. We shouted in unison " HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD."
and then out of the blue my exteamly excited twin went to dad and hugged him tightly. Hey! wasn't I supposed to do that? I am the daughter here. Dad litteraly choked and got up startled.

Mom had also woken up by now. We again shouted " HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD." He smiled as he finally realized what had just happened. I shot Zeeshan a look to leave dad or he would suffocate. Zeeshan ignored me. What? OK ,fine. Whatever.

" Oh, Thank you kids. So nice of you two. " dad thanked us as he yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes. And then we presented to him our present for him - the cake. That cake which we baked for the first time and with great difficulty. As dad extended his hands to accept our gift we beamed proudly. All I wished was that the cake does not tastes like overboiled sweet potatoes dipped in chocolate sauce. And if at all it does then I wish that dad does not upchuck. Fingers crossed.......

Dad smiled the brightest of all smiles as he saw the cake. Zeeshan put the candles on it and mom lighted them up. Dad blew the candles off and cut the cake. We all were shouting and enjoying, clapping our hands and singing the birthday song. Dad and mom were extremely happy . I love it when they smile, it feels like a warm emotion is embracing my heart. I really, really love my family, the joy being around them is wonderful. Dad thanked us again and we joint each other in a big family hug.

" Kids, you are my world. You make my life complete. You are my A to Z happiness, Apeksha and Zeeshan. " He said. We all ate the cake. Hmm, it tastes goooood, not as bad as I initially thought. Just then mom got up from the bed. OMG, is she going to puke or vomit. This terrible thought suddenly crossed my mind. But luckily she did not head towards the washroom instead she went towards the cupboard.

She returned with a beautiful small box in her hand. The exteriors were embedded with exquisite stones. I imagined what would be inside it. She handed it to dad while greeting him. Dad opened his birthday present, presented by mom. The box contained a magnificent looking Rolex watch with lavish designs and perfectly carved edges. I guess it is digital. It had beautiful golden straps. No wait, I guess those straps were made up of real gold! Wow.

Dad hugged mom while thanking her

Dad hugged mom while thanking her. He immediately wore that watch. I was smiling a genuine smile while I watched them. This is pure bliss. I saw Zeeshan who was sitting beside me and he was smiling too.

" So lucky to have them and you, sis."
Atleast we are twins when it comes to family and feeling.  Suddenly a thought crossed my mind and I said, " So, how was the cake? "

" The cake, it was the most delicious thing that I have ever tasted. Great job there. " mom praised us.

" Certainly, it was yummy. " Dad added.

Now I feel good. Perfect.

After fifteen minutes or so Zeeshu and I went back to our rooms. We had done a great job. Yes, I was really happy. As I laid down on my bed I could not help but smile because I know what real happiness is. Today is a special day for my father and so is for me. Tomorrow...... urg Today (since it is past twelve ) is a great day.

I got up at seven a.m sharp. The house was filled with hubbub. There were rants and chants and workers were running here and there. The cooks were busy in the kitchen. Trucks were going in and out of the mansion carring vegetables, flowers, chairs and other necessary stuff. Media was flocking outside the mansion gates. Savita Kaki, Kundan bhaiya and others were all busy preparing for today's lunch. The phones were ringing continuously. Inspite of all this everything was going on smoothly. Mom and dad were in excellent mood and after having our daily prayers and breakfast we headed to the school.

........................................................................

In the school.

It was the first period, Literature when our teacher, Mr. Singh introduced a new student to our class. As he entered, I was dumbstruck. I know him, this boy.

He

Is

So

Damn

Familiar.

I know him. It's him. If I am not wrong, which I know I am not then this boy standing beside my teacher is no one else other than Samar. He is SAMAR MALHOTRA. He was scanning the class when his eyeballs were fixed into mine. I think he recognized me too. I am seeing him after five years. Oh god, oh god, oh god!!!!!!

************************************

KABOOM. Told you, electrifing chapters ahead. Alright I do agree that first half was total family stuff but now enters SAMAR MALHOTRA.

Interesting.

1) What do you think, huh?
2) What do you think, what will be 'Samar' effects on life of Apeksha and Rehan??????

Just stay tuned and keep on reading, next update will be soon. AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.
