Why I said this I do not know. I mean it was totally out of my character to tell boys I had met on the same day to come into my house! I don't know anything about Alex really, other than he holds grudges towards people and he works in a hotel that he also lives in. Oh-and he's seems friendly. but it could all be an act. He could be a murder, but that's highly unlikely. I need to stop overthinking this, just play it cool.
"Yeah sure!" Alex chirped.
Fuck.
I led him in to the apartment and set the bags down into the kitchen and motioned for him to also come to the kitchen.
"I need to buy some new furniture, it's bare I know," I said as I saw the questionable expression on Alex's face.
"Well you have just moved in, so I kinda didn't except it to be fully furnished," Alex smirked, he had a really nice smile.
"Hey you, um, hungry?" Why did I keep asking questions that would make Alex's stay even longer. I mean it was 9.30 and I was starving but, I hardly know Alex and now I'm going to end up cooking for him.
"Yeah I am actually. Starving more like!" Alex replied.
"Well I can make some pasta? Do you like pasta?" Basic food, sounds great Sky.
"Yes, do you have like pots and pans? If you don't I can go get mine? From like, my apartment?" He was so caring, aw.
"Yeah I do, but thanks anyways," I smiled at Alex, and turned the stove on and poured some water from the sink into the pan and placed it on the stove.
"Sit down Alex," I motioned to the basic seats I had in the kitchen.
"Thanks, do you need any help there?"
"No I'm fine. So tell me a bit about yourself? Like are you from here or what?" I asked Alex.
"I'm from Baltimore actually, a suburb called Towson, Maryland? You heard of it? It's quite awhile away- you probably don't know it." Alex said.
"Nope, I haven't heard of it. So what made you move here then?" I questioned Alex further.
I really liked Alex from what I knew already and wanted to get to know him. I mean it's my first day here and I've already invited someone round to have dinner, I guess he's my friend? Or he at least likes me, otherwise he would have just watched me struggle with the bags and then snigger at me as I most likely dropped them on my feet.
"I moved here because I wanted to get out of Towson, and I wanted to live by myself. I've always felt some sort of power when being independent and living alone. My mom thought it was strange to want to be alone, but I'm not alone much, only when I go to sleep, and I've got a lot of friends and I've also just made a new one," Alex blushed, which then also made my cheeks turn slightly crimson.
"So, how is this 'new friend' of yours," I smiled, hopefully he would get my sarcasm, because there's nothing worse than having to explain your shitty sense of humour.
"She's okay I guess, her apartments pretty basic, but she kinda forgets when she leaves the water on boil," Alex sniggered and I then returned a laugh and then I realised what he said.
"Shit!" I cursed.
I ran over to the over bubbling pan and turn the heat down, I then began to pour the Penne pasta into the boiling water and sighed.
"You could of told me sooner," I laughed.
"No, because if I had, I wouldn't have gotten to see you frantically run across the kitchen, and curse out of annoyance," Alex winked.
"Haha, very funny," I joked, watching carefully over the pasta as I began to stir it round with a wooden spoon.
"So as I was saying, my new friend, she's pretty cool," Alex said making me blush, yet again.
"Hmm, I'm not too sure about mine, he's a bit of a douché," I laughed, while Alex put his hand on his chest and pulled a shocked face.
"How dare you," he giggled like a school girl.
"Shut up you," I smirked.
I put out two dishes and forks on the white plastic dinning table and then got two cups out.
"What would you like to drink?" I asked.
"Just water please, I don't really drink anything else," Alex replied.
I poured the water out and put it on the table. I drained the water from the pasta and just put a tin of pasta sauce over the top of it and served it into the two dishes.
"Thank you Sky," Alex said as I placed his meal in front of him.
"It's fine, I mean I nearly flooded the kitchen with boiling water, but it's fine I guess," I smiled down at Alex and then took my place across from him. Alex laughed at my remark.
We began eating and it was quite nice. Simple but nice.
Alex had nearly finished his and I was 3/4 through mine. We didn't talk much throughout dinner. There wasn't a particular reason for it, just we were both eating. As Alex finished his, he then spoke up:
"So I should get going? Thanks for dinner it was really nice," he smiled at me.
"Uhm, yeah. It's fine really," I returned.
"We should do this another time, I know your itching to ask about Tony's friend," Alex smirked, am I really that obvious?
"Well yeah, I do, see you round?" I asked, as I stood up and made my way to the door, Alex following closely behind.
"I will definitely be seeing you round," Alex smirked for the last time before opening the door and kissing my cheek.
"Bye Sky," He spoke softly.
