I could barely sleep that night.

What did that text mean?

Should I be scared?

Do I tell Alex?

Do I go to this party?

What do I do?!

I tossed and turned all night, and by the time I started nodding off, the sun had started rising. This city must really hate me. I had nothing planned for today, but I was going to start work next week so I for today I thought that I would walk down to my work place and check it out. Talk to my boss and whatnot, to see what I should expect working in an office in accountancy with this elderly woman. I hoped I would be able to handle this. At least this furniture company I would be working for, is only a small business. Also, I decided I would tell Melissa that I had plans for Friday night and would not be able to attend this party. Total lie of course, but I need to protect myself from whatever everyone is going on about.

I got up and had a shower. The water was so cold but it made me wake up at least. I wore some black leggings along with a long grey top and denim jacket. On my feet, I wore some white all stars. I put a bit of makeup on and straightened my hair. I got down to the bottom floor to the reception and to my luck Melissa was working on the desk today! I was just gonna tell her straight that I wouldn't be able to come to the party and she seemed nice enough to be understanding about it.

Melissa was very pretty. She had light brown hair in a bob style that she curled in a bouncy way. Her skin was dark and her big eyes a beautiful hazel colour. She had a petite nose and perfectly shaped arched eyebrows. Melissa had big plump lips that she painted red and her long fingernails also were painted red. She wore a tight black dress that came to her knees and I could not see what she was wearing on her feet but she looked reasonably tall. I approached the desk and she looked up to me and smiled, which flashed her very straight teeth.

"Hey... Sky," So a girl who can barely remember my name wants to invite me to a party?

"Hello Melissa, just wanted to tell you that I won't be able to make it this Friday was it? That party?" Melissa just laughed at me.

"Oh silly, you have to come! Everyone wants to meet you!"

"Everyone? Who is everyone?" I scrunched my face up and wondered how many people have heard of me that I have never heard of.

"Well, Vic told me he met you last night and you've met Tony. Um, there's Mike, Jaime, Alysha, Erin and some other girls and guys. It's Alysha's and Mike's party, you have to come Sky!"

Who are these people; I thought to myself.

"Aw, I've made plans, so I won't be able to come, maybe next time though or something?"

"I'm sorry, that won't be a possibility, you have to come," Melissa spoke flatly, clearly I'm not a good judge of character because this did not seem too understanding to me.

"Why?" Was all I replied with.

"The boys, especially Vic need to talk to you and I already said you were going to come to the party anyways,"

"Well, they can just talk to me at a later date, there is no need for it to have to be at this party, I don't know them so I don't know why they would have to talk to me."

Melissa slyly laughed at me again. She threw her head back laughing and slapped her thigh. I was trying to be serious and here she is, throwing all my seriousness in my face and making me feel like a little kid!

"Oh, Sky. If you don't come to the party, the party will only just come to you. However, not coming to the party, won't give these guys a good impression about you and will anger them. So, either way, I will be seeing you Friday night, either dressed up and ready to party or tided up with duck tape over your mouth. Okay? Bye Sky," Melissa smiled the most fake and sly smile and returned to her work. I didn't even reply to her, I just stood there not understanding at all what I have done to make this happen? I've been here 3 days and I'm now going to get tided up?! Why won't anybody tell me what is going on!?
