Your (long awaited?) Frazel oneshot.

Warning: Smut

Hazel touched Frank lightly on the shoulder. “Can you hear me?”

He didn’t reply. His back was turned to her, the brown and white splotches of his shirt all she could see of him.

Hazel tried again. “Frank whatever I did to anger you I’m sorry.”

He still didn’t reply. Hazel played with her hand, her fingernails still ragged from where she had gnawed them down to the knuckle.

Her hand moved,  finding the back of his chair, as she was steadying herself, “I apologize for yelling, I was just frightened. I thought you had gone.”

He still didn’t speak, his dark eyes focused on something she couldn’t see.

“I love you Frank. You know that right?” She asked hesitantly, after a pause, lightly shaking the back of his chair.

Frank shifted in his chair and a smile immediately flashed onto Hazel’s face. She embraced him, coarse fabric tickling her neck. A grey lock of some sort dangled in her vision but she brushed it away, kissing his forehead.

“You were the best thing that ever happened to me. Please don’t leave me again.” Hazel said in a rush, her mind shying away from a thought that lurked in the dark recesses of her mind. An unnoticed tear rolled down her cheek.

She kept talking nonetheless.

Jason looked over at Hazel sadly. She was babbling endlessly to the stuffed bulldog in the chair adjacent to her.

It was seven years on and out of the seven, only him, Hazel and Leo had survived.

Percy had been captured by Polybotes. The other six had rushed to find him, only to discover he was chained up at Gaia’s altar and already dead, his throat stained red. Annabeth had gone mad with grief and the eidolon that had possessed her took advantage of that, causing her to take her own life. Frank had lost his life trying to save Hazel from a Cyclops. Piper had fallen off the side of the Argo II, whilst Jason stood frozen, powerless to save his now voiceless girlfriend as she plummeted to her death.

Even though they had managed to win against Gaia the deaths weighed heavily on the living’s mind and the burden seemed to get heavier with each passing day.

Hazel had gone insane from the sight of Frank being ripped to shreds in front of her. She now lived in a mortal psychiatric ward and had gone prematurely grey at twenty. Leo was still in the coma he had been in for seven years and the Hephaestus cabin were starting to consider pulling life support. Jason sighed, pulling up the blanket to stare at the useless and mutilated stumps of his legs. There were some injuries that even Apollo couldn’t heal.

Hardly anyone had survived, but those who did hadn’t made it out unscarred.
