Wow. This has been a long time coming.

I am insanely sorry for the wait. Six months was it? I am just a very busy person and rewriting it three times almost lead me to give up. But I persevered (mainly because I felt guilty in not updating) for you guys because I enjoy giving the fandom something back. And it's much longer than usual! For further reference, I cannot promise you that I'll update every week, month or even year because I can't lie to you. But I'm not quite ready to finish the series yet so don't worry, I even have a few already planned out that hopefully won't take this long to publish.

Love you all;

P.S. There are references made to the Avengers movies but no spoilers.

There was something different tonight, Jason could feel it. There was something brewing, something that was buzzing along his skin, causing electricity to rush through his veins. Okay, maybe he was exaggerating a little – a lot – but he was excited. It was the first time in a month he would get to see his friends after the first term back at Jupiter Maximus College, a prestige boarding school in San Francisco. He had of course, been messaging them but there was only so much you could convey over text, especially when your phone hours were restricted.

"Jason calm down, there's still a four hour drive before we get there," Reyna said, clapping him on the shoulder as she moved past to place her duffle in the boot. And it truly was a testament to how well she knew him, considering he'd been turning his keys over in his hand; face a collected mask as he watched all the other teens packing up across the campus, chattering animatedly about the long weekend.

"I know," he replied, closing the door and getting into the driver's side. "It's just been a while, that's all."

Reyna nodded, pulling at her purple knit sweater. The slight tugging at the sleeves was her only sign of nervousness, showing she'd rather be anywhere but here. It happened quite often during her Head Girl speeches. Reyna was a fighter (fencer), not a talker.

"Rey, don't be nervous. Piper likes you, Leo likes you, and even Nico likes you. They all like you is what I'm trying to say, you wouldn't have been invited otherwise. You've already gone three times."

He didn't ask why she was nervous, he knew that Reyna struggled with opening herself up to people, scared that if she lifted the façade of the perfect leader away, people wouldn't like her. And he understood perfectly. Being the son of a CEO of a successful worldwide company put him under a lot of stress to be perfect 24/7, and it was hard to know who genuinely wanted to be his friend. At 16, Jason had already achieved what many teens dreamed of; scoring perfect or near-perfect marks on his assignments, being a member of the School Council, Deputy Head Boy; Co-Captain and Wide Receiver of their school football team: The Legionnaires. Having it all, Jason Grace was the rich, charismatic son of 'Zeus,' well-mannered and smartly-dressed with perfect A's to boot, and have you heard about his Football career? But cracks had started appearing in his life. The strain of keeping it all balanced so perfectly was starting to show, in the bags under his eyes and the restless sleep. Aside from Reyna, he had absolutely no other friends to speak of.

But now, at 18, his life had become so much easier. He'd stopped attending his father's company parties with the excuse of extra Football practice and also, unbeknownst to all of his family except Thalia, had dropped his Council and Head Boy duties. The changes had all come two years ago, stemming from the moment the letter from Camp Pegasus arrived.

-

Camp Pegasus was a three month camp offered to 'gifted' students, in Long Island Sound. His father had been all for it; with more potential time in the spotlight which would give more scholarship football opportunities. Even his controlling Stepmother had been all for it. After he'd gotten over the shock of actually being spoken to by his parents, Jason had decided he didn't want to go. He loved football, but it wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted to be a Physics lecturer or a meteorologist. Plus Reyna wouldn't be able to make it, she was going to be in Rio and couldn't cancel her plans. Then he got another letter, directly addressed to him. Turned out, that not only was he being invited to the camp for his football but also because of his incredibly high Physics marks – one of the best in the state, if not country – plus his knowledge of meteorology. That was what finally convinced him to accept.
