PART 2

Chance P.O.V:

I've been going back to Poésie for the past couple of weeks. I went every night for a while until I found out that she only goes on Tuesdays and sometimes on Fridays. Thank god it was Tuesday and tonight I plan to tell her everything.

I was dressed in my white crew neck shirt, my dark jeans, white and red air max's, tan "3" hat and gucci belt. I was in the car on my way to Poésie. When I pulled up I parked on the other side of the street, out of the alley. I went to the door and knocked, the door was opened and I walked in.

I walked to the back and checked myself in. I pulled out my phone and called Towkio. He picked up after a couple rings.

"Where the hell you at man?"

"Bro, I'm walking in right now. Give me a minute to get my shit to together."

I heard footsteps and turned my head.

"Three minutes" the stage director said. I nodded before going back to my conversation.

"Aight man, hurry up."

I hung up and took a deep breath. Before I knew it the three minutes was up and I was standing by the curtain on the small stage.

"Okay everybody, tonight we have someone new on stage. Now I know we usually do poetry, but tonight he's going to do something a little different. It's poetic but not your usual kind of poetry. It's better. Here he goes, Chance."

I walked out and people clapped. I stood in front of the mic and looked over the crowd. A smile instantly spread across my face as my eyes glanced at her.

She was dressed simply. She had on medium blue ripped jeans, with a grey loose sweater. The sweater was designed with rips in it, but not big enough to expose too much of her skin. Her hair was pulled into a neat bun showing off her waves leading from her roots to the end of her bun. She wore simple grey vans to match her sweater. She is so beautiful.

"Wassup everybody. I just want to dedicate this to someone very special who was in my life. I hope they know I could never forget them."

I cleared my throat.

"But before I start, I'm going to need a little help from a close friend of mine. Towkio."

He stood up from his seat and made his way over to the stage. He got up there with me and the instrumental I had created started to play. I made eye contact with Queenie as I began the song.

We used to roll at the Rink, we used to roll at the Rink
I used to talk way too much, you used to know everything
You couldn't stand me, I couldn't stand you
You said I'm steady playin', but you steady playin' too
Your big brother foot work
Your play sister Juke
The Rink was the place
But in that space and time I was too young for you
As you were for me, too worried 'bout Frooties and Chews
'Til I found out all the shawdy's with cooties was cute
And realized what booties can do

[Hook: together]
We gon' get it poppin'
We gon' get it Jukin'
We gon' throw a party
We ain't gotta do shit
You came with your best friend
Came up with for the weekend
Rolling with your parties
So tell me what you thinkin'
So we gon' have a juke jam
So we gon' have a juke jam
We can have a party, just listening to music
Like we used to do
I'll get close to you
I remember you
You used to "I remember you"

We've got so much history baby, maybe
Maybe you and I were meant to be
Maybe I'm crazy

[Verse 2: Chance The Rapper]
We never rolled at the Rink
We would just go to the Rink
You ain't buy tokens no more
You just hip roll at the Rink
You had a nigga, I couldn't stand him
But when they play "Take You Down", Chris Brown
I am his stand-in
I mean it's just dancing
It's harmless as fuck
Then I put my waist through your hips
And your legs and my arms just to harness you up
Then we hit the floor
All the kiddies stop skating
To see grown folks do, what grown folks do
When they grown and they dating

[Bridge: together]
We've got so much history baby, maybe
Maybe you and I were meant to be
Maybe I'm crazy
Crazy about you

[Hook: Towkio]
We gon' get it poppin'
We gon' get it Jukin'
We gon' throw a party
We ain't gotta do shit
You came with your best friend
Who came up for the weekend
Rollin with the parties
So tell me what you thinkin'
So we gon' have a juke jam
So we gon' have a juke jam
We can have a party, just listening to music
Like we used to do
I'll get close to you
I remember you
You used to "I remember you"

[Outro: together]
We've got so much history baby (juke)
Maybe (juke)

As I sang to her, her eye watered. By the time I had finished the song she had tears streaming down her face with a little smile playing across her lips.

Queenie P.O.V:

When he sang the song I couldn't help but to tear up. He remembered, he really remembered. I can't believe he remembered.

"Queenie, I could never forget you."

He stepped off of the stage and started walking towards me as I held my hands up to my face. Tears rolled down my cheeks as my hands covered my cheeks.

"I knew when I saw you, I just couldn't place you. I knew from that night I first came here and saw you that you were and are important. And I wasn't wrong."

He stood in front of me and smiled as he spoke.

"Queenie Lynn Anderson, I missed you and I need you. Can you please, please be my babygirl?"

I uncovered my mouth showing my smile.

"Yes." I said through a faint whisper and nodded my head vigorously.

"I'll be your girl."
